i think that was his mum that died .. well i read it somewhere in an article when this album came out

yeah it was because his mum died. sad. the funeral was on the day that the video for yellow was shot to be shot. the whole band was supposed to be in it but they all went to the funeral except chris. they needed the video to be shot that day so chis couldn't go. :(
