Hello there. Does anybody know what the opening instrumental introduction track on the Coldplay Live 2003 album is? This is the ambient, instrumental track just before Politik kicks in.

It's "An Ending (Ascent)" by Brian Eno found on his album Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks (1983).

 

That's right isn't it fellow Coldplayers...?

I thought it was something they had written themselves?

My money is on the synth part from life in technicolour/ the escapist.

It's a mix of elements from that song, not the song properly...

Sorry guys but I don't think the Introduction track is that Brian Eno piece. I just listened to the CD and also the Brian Eno track in the You tube link and they are not the same.

 

The challenge is still out there for someone to identify this opening track!

It's an opening track. Like the one for Yellow. That you can derive from an mp3 if you're picky.

 

Who really cares? It's an opening. Possibly thought of by them. If you're curious I can understand. But so?

Who really cares??? I do! I like the introduction track and I want to know if it is part of a full length track or album that I can buy from somewhere. That's the whole reason I am posting this thread.

They wrote it themselves otherwise Eno would've got a credit on the album sleeve. An Ending (Ascent) was played before Politik during the AROBTTH tour but isn't on the Live 2003 DVD or CD.
