Punk appeared in certain period in history. It was used to rebel against the authorities. And here wasn't really good as far as I know (but I must admit that I know little about the 80s in Slovenia as no one was teaching us about it :(). Yugoslavia started to collaborate with Western countries and it seems like musicians found their idols in Sex Pistols. ;) And I guess that's it. But I'm not the one to judge as I don't remember much from those late 80s years :P
