While Washington dithers over exploiting oil and gas reserves off the coast of Florida, China has seized the opportunity to gobble up these deposits, which run throughout Latin America, the Caribbean and along the U.S. Gulf coast.

 

The Chinese have forged a deal with Cuban leader Fidel Castro to explore and tap into massive oil reserves almost within sight of Key West, Florida. At the same time, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, who controls the largest oil reserves in the Western Hemisphere, is making deals to sell his country�s oil to China, oil that is currently coming to the United States.

China once again is proving it knows what to do and acts in the best interest of its economy. It's a sad day when American leader should be looking at China on how to run the economy and other things.

Of course. It's quite likely that was part of America's deal with them for giving us so much money. We get billions of dollars, they get more cheap oil and the american people suffer.

 

Either we were sold out once more by our leaders, or they were ignorant and let this happen.

i can honestly say i am ready to fight. Its only a matter of time in my opinion. Im already on a navy career path after college, and with a glance at China's growing navy, this could be a real naval war coming up.

No worries, we'll never fight China. We have overall good relations with them, plus America will be way to broke to fight china. We'll probably end up selling them advanced military weapons to make a few bucks. Plus our government has allowed these things to happen. If any war should be fought, it should be a revolution. China is more of a friend to average American citizens then our own government...sad but true. I put more stock in the Chinese government then my own now days.

Armageddon would mean there wouldn't be much left to live in, and even if you survived, you'd probably wish you hadn't.

There'd be nothing much of any worth for anyone to be in control of.;)

Armies will never again decide "superpower" conflicts, so it doesn't matter how large they are.

the western goverment always alleviates the domestic contradiction through war.
