What is This "Prospekt"?

The song is called Prospekt's March. The bloody EP is called Prospekt's March. The word is said once in the entire song... and I've not the foggiest idea what it means.

Any speculation? Beyond that... does anyone even know what this song means? What are these drones?

Quite the puzzle.

Well for those who don't know, Prospekt was the signature of the mysterious character who provided information about Coldplay and the production of VLV at the old timeline coldplay site. Based on what I recall from the entries, he/she/it doesn't seem to be any of the main members or producers. The letters were from more of a slightly more distant perspective, although the author seemed to be in on everything that happens. A popular opinion is that it's their fifth member, Phil, who is probably the best guess, but I don't think we ever figured out for sure.

It's also a russian word for street...I think.

I remember Prospekt from the site, but I kinda thought that was unrelated.

I'm sure it was a popular oracle question...did we ever get an answer back? If so, I'm sure it was very vague. Maybe we'll one day uncover a hidden meaning. Or perhaps it's an inside reference to phil or whoever or took on that nickname before-hand, and he/she/it contributed to the song in some way.

Well, that Prospekt is Phil Harvey, their long-time friend and manager. But the Prospekt depicted in the song seems to me like an army marching into towns, taking innocent lives.

Maybe I'm looking at it wrong, but at the end of the song itself, the person who the song is about is drifting to heaven (with Poppy Fields likely depicting heaven itself).

I suspect that Prospekt is a metaphor for death.

What a depressing song!

That's good. That's good.

I thought of one thing when Prospekt's March/Poppyfields came up on my iPod during the "Coldplay" shuffle.

Well, from what I can recount, the song first explains how life is like in the area. Very bleak and very gloomy. After a while Chris asks "if you remember" he is in a dialogue with the "Prospekt" character and Prospekt replies "how can I forget?" And then (what I think) is that there's a war on the horizon and it's like a building anticipation and then Chris's character dies or becomes severely injured.

There maybe some other possibilities:

-All of the events in the song are a type of non linear storytelling and this is Chris's character dying and thinking with some sorta retrospective.

-Prospekt and Chris are in a gunfight duel. That just explains it.
