Title : Lost +(Feat Jay-Z)

Album - Prospekt's March EP

Just because I'm losing

Doesn't mean I'm lost!

Doesn't mean I'll stop

Doesn't mean I'm across

Just because I'm hurting

Doesn't mean I'm hurt

Doesn't mean I don't get what I deserved

No better and no worse

I just got lost

Every river that I tried to cross

Every door I ever tried was locked

Oh and I'm just waiting 'til the shine wears off

You might be a big fish

In a little pond

Doesn't mean you've won

'Cause a long may come

A bigger one

And you'll be lost

Every river that you tried to cross

Every gun you ever held went off

Oh and I'm just waiting until the firing stopped

Oh and I'm just waiting 'til the shine wears off

[Jay-Z]

Aha, I gotcha, uh...

With the same sword they knight you, they gon' good night you with

Shit, that's only half if they like you

That ain't even the half what they might do

Don't believe me, ask Michael

C. Martin, see Malcolm

See Biggie, see Pac, see success and its outcome

See Jesus, see Judas

See Caesar, see Brutus, see success is like suicide

Suicide, it's a suicide

If you succeed, prepare to be crucified

Media meddles, niggaz sue you, you settle

Every step you take, they remind you you're ghetto

So it's tough being Bobby Brown

To be Bobby then, you have to be Bobby now

And the question is, "Is to have had and lost

Better than not having at all?"

Because I'm...

Oh and I, just waiting 'til the shine wears off

Oh and I, just waiting 'til the shine wears off

**lolo**

this has been bugging me... Do you think he says C. Martin or See Martin? as in MLK Jr.?

  • 5 weeks later...

I think he mean Martin Luther King, because if you look at the other names made reference to , you can see that Marin Luther is very appropriate

  • 3 weeks later...

Haha! Yeah that makes more sense

Although i too thought upon first hearing it that they were making a reference to Chris

  • 1 month later...

The officialy discograpy thing they've started says See Martin.

Probably Martin Luther King, yeah. Plus I don't think Chris would let them stick in a reference to him like that. And he doesn't really fit in with them all.

Its like look at the price you pay for success... The same sword they knight you they gonna kill you with

look at all the greats who are all gone now because of what they believed and stood for but in the end Martin Luthers dream and Malcom's came true ( President of the United Stated Barak Obama) and Pac and Biggies music lives on and they are still considered as the greatest rappers of all time and that itself shows us that nothing is LOST.....

And the question is, "Is to have had and lost

Better than not having at all?"

Because I'm..

If Tupac and Martin and Bigge were alive and knew their outcome I believe that they do it all over again so it is better to have had and LOST better than not having at all.....

but success is like suicide because from the time you do reach the top then everyone wants to see you fail.. fall.... be bought down... so as Jay Z says if you succed prepare to be crucified because its inevitable

Maybe that's why Chris is just waiting till the firing starts cause he knows its gonna happen...... but he's not gonna be LOST after all with or without him his music will live on and on forever

I like the rap a lot now now, in terms of pacing and rhyme, I feel like it adds a lot to the song. But, I really find the 'niggaz/s' reference unsettling in any sort of song, let alone a Coldplay one.

Also, who is the Michael reference to? Surely not Jackson?

lets say it is about Micheal Jackson

cant you see what succes has turned him into and the media has made a mess of the guy.

so for michael sucess was more than suicide and i think that he would also fit into the context of the song.

lets not get into an argument about other things about Michael or what he has done to himself... but rather focus on the points related to the song and yes when you succeed like he has then you gotta perpare to be crucified

I'm not in any way convinced his paedophilia was a result of his success, but anyway if it IS Mr Jackson mentioned in the song I find it totally repugnant.

well unless you were there with him in the room then you have no proof of your allegations and the last child confessed that he was coerced into saying those things...... again i aint even going there on the Michael thing... this discussion is about LOST+
