How do I sign up? I keep trying to sign up and I click submit but it won't let me. How do I fix this?

Same here

u had to sign up before december 1st UK time...

EDIT: oops, I misread! You can't sign up anymore? That seems kinda weird, don't they want as many people as possible?

this sounds pretty fishy to me. i think we'll be getting it, definitely, but not without some waiting. they could have been more clear on the instruction front.

Thanks for asking us to let you know when to sign up for (RED)WIRE.

We'll send you an email on December 1st when it's ready for you.

Meanwhile, you can help others get involved and increase your impact, by recommending (RED)WIRE to your friends. Once we launch, every five (RED)WIRE members will generate enough money, every month, to help keep one person living with HIV in Africa alive. You get four friends involved and create change through musical discovery.

So keep December 1st marked on your calendar - we've got a party planned.

Boooo! It's not available at all in Canada:

(RED)WIRE is not yet available in Canada' date=' but according to the PR company, "details are forthcoming about the Canada launch." However, if you are not in Canada, sign up here to receive the first two issues of (RED)WIRE free.

That's why the site still doesn't exist for me.

The magazine will require a $5 (US) subscription fee. Artists are paid for their contributions, but half of the subscription proceeds go directly to The Global Fund. Issues will arrive every Wednesday via a (RED)WIRE player and feature (according to Reuters) "an exclusive song from a major musician, a song from a performer who (RED) aims to showcase, a multimedia piece that could encompass video or photography and a look at how proceeds are benefiting Africans in need. The materials will be downloaded to a custom player and automatically loaded into iTunes."

From the fact sheet, here's "how it works":

For five dollars a month, members will receive a weekly digital music offering including:

• An exclusive song from a major artist.

• A less-well-known song from an artist (RED) wants to showcase.

• A fun or inspiring piece that’s not music—a digital short, some great photography or a reading from artists, actors and others.

• A window into the impact of (RED) dollars at work in Africa

Some of the "major artists" have already recorded songs for the project. The Killers, Elton John and Neil Tennant from The Pet Shop Boys joined forces on the Christmas tune Joseph, Better You Than Me. John Legend recorded a cover of Bob Marley's Redemption Song. And U2, recorded their contribution " just last Wednesday".

(RED)WIRE founder Don MacKinnon (former music VP at Starbucks) told Billboard he expects another big name collaborator:

rtists are already saying, 'I want to give you a track for those people who brought friends in. That's the biggest idea: using social networking to actually change the world in a unique way..I had a meeting with Jay-Z, and he wants to talk about artists to be featured in that spotlight slot. Big artists may curate an issue. The whole goal was to create a creative platform. When somebody says, 'I do all this photography and I want to put it in as an extra,' that's when I go, this is going to be really cool."

o wtf....not avail. in canada....:(

To be honest, I'm not sure how successful this will end up, which is a shame...

Is it 5 dollars a month, or just 5 dollars total?

^Five bucks a month... for the privileged few who are given the option of paying it.

5$/each song cause it is 1 song per month!

BUT if u suscribed BEFORE december 1st, you have 2 free songs from MAJOR artists!

^It's 2 songs a week. One from a known artist, one from an unknown.

that doesn't sound good in terms of the Kylie & Coldplay duet.... no mention at all. surely if it was the first song they were giving away, there's be mention of it???

ugh.

my goodness. my left foot could have organized this better.

the page won't even let me sign up. i just get the whirly blue MSvista ring when i click "submit."

i'm not really banking on getting lhuna tomorrow anymore. it'll surface eventually, but it's too confusing for right now.

i'm thinking about how great How You See the World No. 2 was for the "Help" charity. can't wait for Lhuna. Kylie is so freakin hot

my goodness. my left foot could have organized this better.

For some reason, that made me laugh really hard... I think it was the image of a foot in charge of a non-profit organization... :laugh3:

Ahem. Sorry. :freak:

Anyway, I'm glad I get the first 2 issues free, since there's no way I can pay $5 a month for that, even if it's for a good cause! Product Red is just too expensive all round, I can't afford any of it...

Hope its really out Monday. I'm going to sleep and hopefully I'll wake up to Lhuna!

This would be so much easier if it was released via iTunes and the money could be put to the charity that way (like with HYSTW 2 and In The Sun -w/ Michael Stipe)...

yeah the fact is you're paying five dollars a week for two songs. One from a major artist that you MIGHT be into, and then one from an unknown artist that you MIGHT enjoy. I would gladly pay a few dollars for a new Coldplay song, but i don't think i'd like to overpay for other mediocre material from different bands.

what a shame that i am cheapskate. no way am i paying five bucks a month even it is for a good cause i'm not feeling guilty at all! hopefully it will be released on itunes for .99! what a dumb way to sham $$$

It's just so expensive and inconvenient this way- if it was on iTunes it would much more accessible and possible that they would raise even more money...
