Video: Was America Ever a White Nation?

In his groundbreaking new documentary; A Conversation About Race, filmmaker Craig Bodeker redefines the conventional wisdom on Race and Racism

Americans are being slandered as “RACISTS” more than ever before! Yet I don’t know of ANY nation that has done more for it’s “minorities” than the USA has.

There’s no other nation on Earth that has created so many “minority” millionaires, yet so many of these “minorities” still hate America for her “racism?”

We hear that “White European Culture” is overpowering and dominant. We hear that we need exclusively African American, Hispanic, and even Asian TV networks just to offset the “oppressive influences” of white culture! But have you turned on a TV lately?

Just how much “White Culture” is featured in American Broadcasting today? There’s rarely any program or ad that doesn’t feature at the least, an EVEN distribution of races or ethnic groups, even though two out of every three Americans are white! This is just one of the many “disconnects” I see in my daily life on matters of race.

A Conversation About Race is just the starting point. Watch the film, and then have your own conversation about race. You’ll be surprised at what you discover!

Still don't quite understand. While the post deals with race it doesn't say anything particularly offensive, nor does it use rude derogatory language. There have easily been much worse posts, and I still get what's so bad about this one. I'm not saying I completely agree, but it raises some valid points. Differing opinions are no reason to ban somebody. Nor are the types threads they post, unless they're spam, which this one isn't.

Look at the threads the person created and how they deal with race. They are offensive.

I haven't seen this posters other threads, and I agree that elements of this post are very disagreeable, but I don't find it any more offensive than a some of the opinions on threads concerning the last presidential election, or that 9/11 conspiracy thread. Someone shouting "radiohead sucks!" or "religion is the worst thing that happened to humanity" can be very offensive to certain individuals, but in regard to the regulations of a forum, it's perfectly okay. The conduct of this post isn't particularly unruly. If you strongly disagree, voice your opinion or ignore it. But there is a wide degree of free speech allowed on these forums, and that should be respected.

Freedom of Speech is just that. But really, the whole notion of race is just kooky. There is only the human species, with subtle variations on a theme - mostly adaptations to climate or conditions, but some phenotypic expressions from selection pressures for superficial traits, such as hair or eye color. There are different ways of thinking, different ways of structuring social relationships, and different degrees of ordered arrangements or individualized directions within societies. And nothing is static.

Lets see.. if we go by the classical definitions, this is more a matter of trying to lump often dissimilar groups together, and that's a poor fit for the reality of the complex human interrelationships we all have..

I move we ban the word 'race' from the English language.

Precisely what I believe. A black man and a white man are no more different than a tabby cat and a black cat. They still meow, they still like catnip, they still purr when pet. The differences are mostly visual.

I don't agree with what I am about to post entirely but here is something I recieved in an email.

Michael Richards Court Speech

Makes one stop and think after reading this:

Michael Richards is better known as Kramer from tv's Seinfeld series.

This was his defence speech in court after making racial comments in his comedy act.

He makes some very interesting points. He said :

I'm proud To Be White

Someone finally said it.

How many are actually paying attention to this ?

There are African Americans, Mexican Americans,

Asian Americans, Arab Americans, etc.

And then there are just Americans.

You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction.

You Call me 'White boy,' 'Cracker,' 'Honkey,'

'Whitey,' 'Caveman' ... and that's OK.

But when I call you, Nigger, Kike, Towel head,

Sand-nigger, Camel Jockey, Beaner , Gook, or Chink .

You call me a racist.

You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you,

so why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live ?

You have the United Negro College Fund.

You have Martin Luther King Day.

You have Black History Month.

You have Cesar Chavez Day.

You have Yom Hashoah.

You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi.

You have the NAACP.

You have BET.

If we had WET (White Entertainment Television) we'd be racists.

If we had a White Pride Day, you would call us racists.

If we had White History Month , we'd be racists.

If we had any organization for only whites to 'advance'

OUR lives we'd be racists.

We have a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a Black Chamber of Commerce, and then we just have the plain Chamber of Commerce.

Wonder who pays for that ?

A white woman could not be in the Miss Black American pageant,

but any color can be in the Miss America pageant. If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships you know we'd be racists. There are over 60 openly proclaimed Black Colleges in the US . Yet if there were 'White colleges' THAT would be a racist college.

In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching for your race and rights. If we marched for our race and rights,

you would call us racists. You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you're not afraid to announce it.

But when we announce our white pride, you call us racists.

You rob us, carjack us, and shoot at us.

But , when a white police officer shoots a black gang member or

beats up a black drug-dealer running from the law and posing a

threat to society, you call him a racist.

I am proud.

But you call me a racist.

Why is it that only whites can be racists ?

There is nothing improper about this e-mail.

Let's see which of you are proud enough to send it on
