ASpergers, thoughts, comments, discussion

I haven't heard that story, no. That's pretty interesting. I don't think, however, that the syndrome in itself would alter someone's mind to that extent. As I've mentioned before, I have a friend who has Asperger's. He may do some awkward things, but he's never done anything over-the-top, and he's definitely never broken the law.

But with Asperger's someone can take a deep interest with things they find themselves interested in don't they? Gary Mckinnon may have broken the law, but I hardly think he did it for evil purposes.

Some do, yes. Different people exhibit different symptoms, however. It's like that with a lot of disorders. I would probably have to talk to my friend about this before I could give any more input. He knows more about it than I do.

Do you HAVE to pounce upon everything I post on these message boards?

lol no, I was just posting my opinion, don't be so fucking paranoid.

Typical of you isn't it.

But he can't be charged if there is no mens rea I don't think.

Crests, hacking is hacking. Of course he can be charged.

Oh yeah, I'm silly :wacky:

I'm starting to learn law right now and I quite like it

We should turn this thread into a fun thread.

I wish what I had was just called Aspergers.

It's PDD-NOS but really it's almost exactly Aspergers except one thing is apparently missing.

But apparently my diagnosis is gone or something :wtf:

I know another member with the same thing as me

Wow, that's interesting.

Yes, quite :P

So what is this friend you have like? :wacky:

Who knows, maybe they will someday change your diagnosis to Aspergers

Well either way I'm the same so it doesn't make a difference :P

But then it will have a cooler name :laugh3:

How does it affect you though Cresty?

I'm not great with this sort of thing, I don't really know that much about it :P

Like what do you mean how does it affect me?

I don't really know :P

I suck at having a social life, I don't always understand things and if you chew something around me I'll most likely freak out :wacky:

But I'm good at being logical :P

Yes, quite :P

Well, he's very random a lot fo the time, and when he tries to explain something, he can be very confusing. However, he's still one of my favorite people on the face of the planet. :)

Speaking of which, I asked him about how Asperger's can affect someone. As far as that guy is concerned, he refers to that as a "tic" of sorts. The hacker guy became so obsessed with finding out the information he needed, he'd do anything to find what he was looking for. Asperger's can cause people to solidify interests in one or a few specific things. He supposes that's what happened to this guy, and he understands that completely. He says he can be the same way about things sometimes.

I just took an online test to see if I have it, but I don't.

I took an online test to see if I have it and it says I most likely do.

In the one I took, I had to get 32 points to have aspergers, but I got 22.

I have a learning disability that's a form of Asperger's... It's made life tough sometimes (social stuff can be a nightmare), but I've learned to deal with everything that it throws at me :)

really, you have PDD-NOS? I didn't know that!

haha, it takes a lot more than an online test to know if you have AS :P
