February 9, 200917 yr ...that Chris Martin couldn't even steal a Bob Dylan quote. In the 60 Minutes interview he said some line that made the interviewer laugh. He then said, "That's a Bob Dylan quote by the way..." He can't even use a quote without citing it, how exactly did he steal an entire song from Satch?
February 9, 200917 yr He can't even use a quote without citing it, how exactly did he steal an entire song from Satch? Beats me!!!
February 9, 200917 yr I don't think he did and even if he did poor Satriani.... he must be crying in a dark corner wondering how Coldplay got a grammy for VLV and no one even knew his oh-so-wonderful-song If I could fly till he said Coldplay stole that song from him!

Does that mean you stole from me:confused:

February 10, 200917 yr Did you really need to make a topic for this? I dont understand why so many people on this "open" forum always have some comment to make about the topic of conversation. The whole point of a forum is to have an open area for discussion, no matter what the topic, how arbitrary, or how many times its been brought up before - If you not interested, then dont participate! Let people say and express how they wish!
February 10, 200917 yr Yes, but this could just as easily have been said on the "guitarist accuses coldplay of plagiarism" thread. There are a lot of thread's, and it's annoying when they get cluttered up and there are three, four threads discussing the same thing. A thought like "I find it funny" isn't really thread worthy. Whereas a news story, or a question usually is. Everyone is free to say whatever they want, it's just inconvenient when people introduce threads that don't offer any new ground for conversation.
February 10, 200917 yr understood and agreed, but perhaps a person may not know how to navigate through all the threads before sharing a quick thought that popped into their head. I still think give them a break, instead of making them feel not "thread" worthy. Its just an empathetic thought, thats all...

I think he would know what is "thread-worthy" by now.

February 10, 200917 yr I hate it when instead of people discussing the topic.... they go all mod happy and whine about how it shouldn't be a thread. If you don't like it, don't post and it'll die. Stop complaining. I thought it was cute. Right after the interviewer laughed, Chris kind of looked guilty and brought it up right away.
February 10, 200917 yr Well, back on topic. Coldplay fans, or just anyone whose seen Chris in an interview knows how eager he is to disclaim his music and hand it over to sources no one even expected. The irony behind this suit is that, especially during X&Y, Chris frequently said "Our definition of inspiration is plagiarism" and that the band ever did was plagiarize, even though it couldn't be farther from the truth. So if Coldplay intentioanlly took so much as one note from another band, Chris would be singing it from the rooftops. It'd be so hilarious if Satriani's lawyers actually cited those X&y interviews in court as evidence. :laugh3:

February 19, 200917 yr Author Did you really need to make a topic for this? yes I dont understand why so many people on this "open" forum always have some comment to make about the topic of conversation. I don't get why it's inconvenient. It's thread. It's not gonna crash your computer or stop the forum. There is no thread limit. If a thread isn't "worthy", no one will post and it will disappear. But since several people replied to this thread, doesn't that kind of prove it was "worthy"? Nick has been here since 2007. I think he would know what is "thread-worthy" by now. in my opinion, anything you feel like asking or sharing is "thread-worhty". I've always believed that.
February 19, 200917 yr She said the same thing about some of my threads. She is too moody. If you don't like the thread, than don't post in it.
February 19, 200917 yr She said the same thing about some of my threads. She is too moody. If you don't like the thread, than don't post in it. As you use the phrase "I'm allowed to express my opinion" on here, so am I. And please refrain from posting about me behind my back as if I won't read it, it's rude. All I do is read posts, quote+express my opinion, post. Yet I get whined at for it. Why? Because it's saying I think this thread sucks? In other threads that really suck and everyone agrees nobody whines about it. Yet they can when people say they think the thread sucks and are part of the minority. Interesting.
February 19, 200917 yr maybe I shouldn't just randomly jump into this conversation, but I honestly appreciate the fact that Cobalt is so honest. I wish I had the guts to just type out whatever I am thinking. I honestly don't know why I hold back. It's just some stupid thread on the internet.. it won't be the end of the world if someone speaks their mind
