I've been working on building a forum for the website, just to see what it would look like...:thinking:

 

I know we've got the facebook group, which is great, but it's kinda restrictive cos we can't post pics, smilies, proper links etc. And this place is great, but kinda hard to keep track of things/news and stuff. Plus, I'll bet it's a nightmare for newbies..

 

So, what do you chicks think about a proper Apparatjik forum..? Good idea? Bad? Would anyone make use of it or have we got enough to keep track of as it is..? ;)

I used Nabble for the forum (cos it's free, budget won't stretch to paying for hosting I'm afraid :() so you register across the whole of the Nabble website. That's why usernames mayl be taken even tho those names are not on our board. Sorry chicks :(

But I've got the same issue, is that the only way to post? By replying to someone else? Because some of the posts say "in reply to" and others don't :dunce: And we probably should be discussing this in the apparatchick forum :lol:

The forum idea is nice :nice:, it will be a more organized and easier way for the new people to find everything about them :D

Yah, sometimes it posts with a reply to someone and sometimes it doesn't. Anyway, I think we can work it out sometime, so far the forum is great :nice:

 

And the wider width yes... :wacky: more suitable for viewing pictures and such :wink3:

The stupid Nabble forum is a pile of old stinking crap and I may have found a better one. I've spent far too long trying to find the right board, the right host, the right style, the right look, the right structure....grumble. :angry:

 

I could do with some help & feedback on what I've done so far, so if any of you guys will be online tomorrow evening (my evening, around 8/9 pm GMT+1) I could share a sneek preview of the new board & I'd appreciate your thoughts.

 

ps, sorry to be a pain in the arse by starting again, but I didn't want to persevere with something that just wasn't any good. :\

Yeah, not so much techie advice really - it's more sort of the categories and sub-forums that we need and help making sure the layout is right. If I look at this in a project management way (yeah, I know, I'm a geek :P) then I see you guys as my end users, the clients of the system ;) and I have to aim to meet your user requirements :)

 

 

This is what I've done so far. If you could look it over, sign up if you like, even post stuff, start new threads etc and comment and make suggestions for anything that we need, I'd be superbly grateful :kiss:
