November 23, 200916 yr yah its not like people are suddenly going to abandon Coldplaying.com... if anything keeping this thread full with all the updates and talk would just confuse people more. so i'm for updating this thread when something happens but not for keeping it up like we did previously. and Space Cadet....I saw you were our newest member :cheesy:! yah!Well the thing is that lots of newbs are going to come in all the time, and if there isn't a clear, established Apparatjik thread there's going to be dozens of new ones. Plus there's lots of people here who might not be willing to wander off to a new site for news but might still drop into a thread. Which isn't to say that any of you have to do anything (hey, I'll post stuff when I think of it), just that I'm confused why this is even a debate because this thread is here already... And thanks, yay!
November 23, 200916 yr Author I think we kind of let this place die down a bit in all the excitement of having a whole Apparatjik forum in which to post. In all the 218 pages here, there can only be about 10 pages of actual news anyway :P ...it's mostly off topic rambles. I'm sure now that things are moving towards an album release one or another of us will keep this thread updated with the more important news, just like I tend to wander over to the Apparatjik thread on mewsite too and keep that thread alive once in a while. Anyway, if there's any Apparatjik-noobs wanting to catch up with the whole Electric Eye/album hysteria, there's this little link they can follow ;)
November 23, 200916 yr The word is getting out! :D Coldplay bassist Guy Berryman, Mew’s Jonas Bjerr, and A-Ha’s Magne Furuholmen have only tested the waters for their new group Apparatjik thus far, officially releasing only one song ( [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swlDcW_I2tk]“Ferreting”[/ame] on the [ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bruce-Parry-Presents-Amazon-Tribe/dp/B001EDG2GS]soundtrack[/ame] to Bruce Parry’s BBC show Amazon), launching a [ame=http://apparatjik.com/]cryptic site[/ame] adorned with abstract photography, videos, and random WTFery, plus dropping a few intriguing instrumentals on YouTube, Vimeo, and elsewhere (check out “Frozen Fingers” [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OK6tmhRSy-8]here[/ame], or “Flum” [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EY0idztSDA4]thataway[/ame]). According to fansite Coldplaying.com, however, Apparatjik are finally prepping their forthcoming debut album and the first single drops a week from today. What’s more, Kensaltown Records, presumably the label handling the band’s upcoming releases, sent out a free download of the single, “Electric Eye,” to fans, so we finally have a taste of what’s on the way from Berryman and company (with vocals!). In a funny twist, Apparatjik have been so cryptic about the project that they’ve never even revealed whether Berryman, Bjerr, or Furuholmen have taken on vocal duties, and a consensus hasn’t yet been reached on the singer’s identity from their [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swlDcW_I2tk]first single[/ame]. Actually, the band are even stoking the debate a bit, tweeting “Have you guessed the vocal chords yet?” about their latest MP3 teaser. Place your bets: head on over to Coldplaying or click here for a 60-second snippet of “Electric Eye.” (We’re guessing it’s Berryman.) http://www.twentyfourbit.com/post/254666228/coldplay-s-guy-berryman-co-prep-apparatjik-single
November 23, 200916 yr ^ Yay! :D @Paula just a little off-topic:shy:... :P Yeah you are right, probably if there are more news and stuff about the album, this thread will be back to life in no time! :D

November 24, 200916 yr Other two articles :wacky: from the Guardian Coldplay and A-ha side project announce debut album If you were expecting Apparatjik to sound like Viva La Vida meets Take On Me, then you are going to be sorely disappointed * Sean Michaels * guardian.co.uk, Tuesday 24 November 2009 10.17 GMT * Article history Apparatjik ... confused? So are we ... The first audio samples have emerged from the debut album by Apparatjik, a side project uniting Coldplay bassist Guy Berryman, A-ha keyboardist Magne Furuholmen, Mew frontman Jonas Bjerre and producer Martin Terefe. The band has emailed a new song, Electric Eye, to just 30 fans, promising a full release on 30 November. Apparatjik first appeared in 2008, recording one track for Amazon Tribe, a benefit CD launched in conjunction with Bruce Parry's Amazon TV series. However, they have kept working and, according to Coldplay fan sites, the debut album is imminent. The band are certainly putting work into their deliberately esoteric website and Twitter account, the former hiding dozens of videos, images and audio snippets. Since September, fans have been encouraged to submit their theories linking the disparate images and sounds – and 30 of the most creative have reportedly been rewarded with the first single. Though we haven't heard the single in its entirety, one generous fan has shared a sample of Electric Eye that we have dutifully analysed. Recalling the style of Belfast DJ David Holmes, the track's got a shoegazey parade of sequenced synths, moody guitar riffs and an unidentified singer. While it's clearly not Bjerre's usual singing voice, we're not used to hearing the warbling of Coldplay's bassist or A-ha's keyboardist, so it's difficult to tell who is behind the mic. Even more mysterious is the voice of Terefe, a man best known for producing acts like Martha Wainwright and Jason Mraz. But what Electric Eye definitely does not sound like is a cross between Viva La Vida and Take On Me. And for that, we must admit, we are sorely disappointed. source and from NME Coldplay side-project Apparatjik set for single release Guy Berryman and members of A-Ha and Mew to release single next week * November 24, 2009 | 0 Comments * Coldplay news RSS feed * More Coldplay news, reviews, videos and tour dates * Post this on Twitter or Follow NME Apparatjik, the side-project of Coldplay's Guy Berryman are releasing their debut single 'Electric Eye'. Released on November 30 via the bands website Apparatjik.com, the group also includes A-Ha's Magne Furuholmen and Mew's Jonas Bjerre. The band previously contributed to a compilation album for BBC2's TV show 'Amazon', with their song 'Ferreting' and are also reported to be working on their debut album with a release date yet-to-be announced. source
November 24, 200916 yr The boys have made it to the 'Ennemy' XDDD I'm so proud of them!! But sad at the same time that's it's not 'our' secret band anymore....
November 24, 200916 yr But we can say we discovered them :D anyway, another, from Q Apparatjik release new material Apparatjik, the arty side project of Coldplay's Guy Berryman, A-ha's Magne Furuholmen and Mew's Jonas Bjerre have announced the release of their first stand-alone single. Electric Eye, an ethereal track decidedly less prog than Mew, less pop than Coldplay and a bit more complex than A-ha, is released on November 30. The group, which also includes sometime-A-ha producer Martin Terefe (KT Tunstall, James Morrisson, Jason Mraz), recorded a track for the benefit CD Amazon Tribe in 2008, and have since then been allocating time to their project in between duties with their more well-known bands. Snippets of video, audio and images of Apparatjik's work can be found on their slightly eccentric website, apparatjik.com, complete with nonsential graphs and in-studio banter. But a little pretentiousness has never hurt anyone right? QTheMusic for one, are intrigued. 11:23 AM | 24/11/2009 source
November 24, 200916 yr But not the last! Something which I'm grateful for, 'cause I think they're brilliant! :awesome: :)
November 24, 200916 yr from here: Coldplay and a-ha offshoot release single Apparatjik, the side project of Coldplay’s bass guitarist Guy Berryman, have announced details of their debut single. Electric Eye, will be released via the new band’s official website on 30 November. The group consists of Berryman alongside a-ha’s Magne Furuholmen, Mew’s Jonas Bjerre and producer Martin Terefe. Coldplay are currently taking a break after their Viva La Vida tour which resumes in South America in 2010. Berryman's group features a-ha member Magne Furuholmen
November 24, 200916 yr Seriously, it's becoming a little irritating to see those articles saying 'Coldplay and A-Ha ....' It's Guy from CP and Mags from A-Ha!!! Those guys are not their bands!! Journalists, please be precised!!!
November 24, 200916 yr Author But we can say we discovered them :D more than that, we are their bloody PR/promotions company.... :smug:
November 24, 200916 yr Other two articles :wacky: from the Guardian source and from NME source But we can say we discovered them :D anyway, another, from Q source here[/url]: HOLY CRAP :o Well it's definitely not a secret anymore... more than that, we are their bloody PR/promotions company.... :smug: :smug::smug:
November 24, 200916 yr Author The secret is well and truely out... round up here of all the recent Apparatjik press attention :D
November 25, 200916 yr Seriously, it's becoming a little irritating to see those articles saying 'Coldplay and A-Ha ....' It's Guy from CP and Mags from A-Ha!!! Those guys are not their bands!! Journalists, please be precised!!! Yeah I agree with you. The journalists that wrote these articles are writing for a public who's generally ignorant. They're using 'Coldplay' and 'A-Ha' as cues because generally no one recognizes "Guy Berryman" or "Magne" alone, which is fine but still annoying for the fans!! :P
November 25, 200916 yr Author It's amusing that the big name sites like Q, nme, guardian are using the Coldplay/aha reference in their headlines, but some of the European ones and the hip American ones put Mew first in their headlines ;)
November 25, 200916 yr more than that, we are their bloody PR/promotions company.... :smug: They should pay us! :smug:... or at least they should pay you!
