The Alarm...

Featured Replies

...is an old band. Then again, I'm getting old. I won't say how old. Does anyone else like them? Has anyone ever seen them in concert?

These are my favorites:

-Strength

-Rain in the summertime

-The day the ravens left the tower

-Spirit of 76

-Presence of Love

I've always liked The Alarm. Lots of people compare them to U2. I think they're better than U2. The lead singer--Mike Peters- is waaaaaaay better looking than Bono. Unfortunately I've never seen them in concert because they've never toured here. Their songs are amazing. "Strength" is one of those songs that never leaves you. It used to give me a lot of strength when I broke up with my ex and when I lost a job.

:embarassed:

Wow! You must be around my age. Spirit Of '76, Strength and Dawn Chorus are my favorites.

I lost track of them a few years back, so it's nice to hear they're stilla round and performing.:) Never saw them live, but I do agree Mike Peters is WAY better looking than Bono, lol. I also love the fact that they're Welsh. Not many Welsh bands in pop music, so as a Morgan, I like that.:)

EDIT: WTF? The board just ate half my post!

I have been having trouble logging in.

In other news:

The original members of The Alarm finally appeared together on the VH1 show Bands Reunited in 2005, and performed live in London. They also put out a DVD collection.

The Alarm's single "68 Guns" was used in an American Heineken lager television commercial.

In April 2008 guitarist Dave Sharp launched his own version of the band, AOR - The Spirit Of The Alarm to showcase the band's American setlists from the late 80's.

The Alarm used to tour with U2 back in the day. What a gig that must've been!

Imagine that...an opening act that's actually worth seeing.

This is my all-time favorite Alarm song. I never get tired of hearing it.

It is the absolute jewel from the Eye of the Hurricane.

The Alarm have always been one of the best underrated bands. IMO

I always cheer for the underdog. :wink3:

I'd forgotten how great that song was! All I have left from my Alarm collection is a cassette single of Love Don't Come Easy. (Yep. Cassette Single...now you know I'm old!)

Here's Dawn Chorus, my favorite from Strength.

Thank you for liking this band as much as I do. It's always nice to know you're not alone.

In other news, Mike Peters just finished playing his LA gigs. I don't have the footage.

Unfortunately I don't live there.
