March 29, 200917 yr i dont like skiing, and tons of my friends are on the ski team :( Bears can ski??:stunned:
March 29, 200917 yr I love cross-country, but downhill is for the adrenaline crowd, who can afford knee-replacement surgery..:laugh3: (just ask my cousin Pat about that.) Best is when the weather is just right, and the snow has that perfect slipperiness to it..
March 29, 200917 yr ditto, Chuck. Cross country is my favourite too, I love going off for a trek on my on into the off beaten paths. I do like downhill, I just usually end up on me arse more often than not though! (hides from MC- but i excel best in snowboarding)
March 30, 200917 yr Author Every year I go to les Ménuires and it's crammed with English people and also Dutch. I'm delighted to see them. I can keep up my English with them. :)
March 30, 200917 yr ditto, Chuck. Cross country is my favourite too, I love going off for a trek on my on into the off beaten paths. I liked cross country for a short period when I was about 6, and then just got too lazy to drag myself around a flat path with long sticks strapped to my feet. :P I just don't get the point of it when you can amble around in the snow by just walking, and save yourself all the work. (or maybe I'm just a terrible cross country skier, and that's why I always went so slowly.)
March 30, 200917 yr Author With cross-country skis you can also skate. It's tiring though, even with special skis.
March 30, 200917 yr cross country skiing is fun at times! It's a good way to exercise during winter when running isn't really an option.
