April 25, 200917 yr Thought it would be interesting to see people's opinions and why they feel the way they do. Please no fighting, any debates should be peaceful and productive.
April 25, 200917 yr My uterus is my own, thanks very much. I'd like to decide what I do with it. Pro-Choice. also: who even knows when the fetus becomes a "person"? Hell, when it's just born, who knows if the baby's a "person" yet? How do you define something like that? If that could be defined, I would probably have a different opinion, but it can't, so I'm pro-choice.
April 25, 200917 yr I thought this poll was about Euthanasia so I polled 'Pro choice' however, upon realising that I am a n00b, I will take this opportunity to say that upon the matter of unplanned pregnancy I am 100% pro life. if you get yourself into the situation, it is upon you to deal with it instead of running away and killing your child. action and consequence.
April 25, 200917 yr I don't really know, so I voted either way, I surpose I would never know unless I was presented with a situation that needed a choice. What I say now may not be how I feel at the time.
April 25, 200917 yr it depends... if it's about euthanasia, definitely pro-choice. Also if the pregnancy involves a heavy risk for the mother, or if the baby is so sick that will die just a few minutes/hours after birth but if it's just an unplanned baby, I'm definitely pro-life, it's not about making a mistake and say "ohhh let's kill the baby and everything will be ok", specially now that so many info and anticonception methods are available

April 25, 200917 yr I'm stuck in between... Yeah, it's your uterus and you can do whatever you want... But if you don't want your eggo prego, then I advise you take steps to protect yourself... Put a glove on and you don't have to think about ended a developing humans life just cause of ur carelessness.
April 25, 200917 yr Unless it's a case of rape, incest, endangering the health of the mother, or (by some sort of freak accident) the contraception you're using is defective (which is quite rare, but possible), I'm completely pro-life. I mean, it's not the baby's fault that you made bad choices and got yourself pregnant, so why take it out on the fetus and kill it? That's stupid.
April 25, 200917 yr pro-choice. i mean, it'd be great if women never had abortions, but who am i to tell someone what they can and cannot do?

If a woman is raped, or if there is a definite risk to the mother, than yes, abortion should be permitted. But faulty birth control is NO EXCUSE. If you get pregnant out of your own doing, then you should have to have the baby, you should not be able to take away a life because of your own stupidity. And for all those nay-sayers who think faulty birth control is not the woman's fault, there is one way to guarantee 100% you will not get pregnant: DON'T HAVE SEX. If you abstain, there is no way to get pregnant. And you can choose to abstain. In my opinion, abortion should not be allowed except in the case of rape or a definite risk for the mother's health.

Yes, but most people don't, and I feel that if you take the right precautions that are supposed to keep you from getting pregnant (and contraceptives are supposed to work at least 99% of the time), but it happens anyway, it's not right for you to feel obligated to have a baby when you weren't really expecting one to begin with, especially if you work THAT hard to stay unpregnant. Where's the fairness in that? I will say, though, that I agree completely with your abstaining bit.

Where's the fairness in that? I will say, though, that I agree completely with your abstaining bit. So you just contradicted yourself. If you agree about the abstaining bit, then you should have to have the baby if you get pregnant due to faulty birth control. Yes, contraceptives work 99% of the time, but abstinence works 100% of the time. If you really don't want a baby, don't have sex. 99% is still a risk, even if it's a small one. If you take that risk and fail, that's your problem, no babies should be killed over it.
April 27, 200917 yr I believe people should be allowed to do anything they want to themselves, your body your choice. But Since abortion deals with another human its a different story. No one should be allowed to hurt another, I don't care if someone wants to hurt themselves.
April 27, 200917 yr I'm more sided towards pro-choice because it's a women's body and she shouldn't have the government say what she can or cannot do with it. However I don't feel that getting an abortion is the solution if the couple is too lazy to use protection.

It's the manufacturer's fault. *sigh* I know when I've been beat. OK, Nick. You win. I concede.
