swine flu

Featured Replies

so, everyone i know is basically freaking out like crazy about the swine flu, especially since 3 chicago public schools closed down that are only about an hour away from where we are. so now there's germ-x in every class room & no one can stop using it. ppl don't realize the influenza is VIRUS not BACTERIA. viruses are not living, so you can't kill it! and when you use too many anti-bacterial soaps or germ-x, you make the bacteria imune to it, so eventually the anti-bacterial soaps won't work anymore!

anyways, there are trillions of scary things in this world that we can all die from; so how come all of a sudden everyone is freaking out about swine flu? this thread is basically for ppl to list more likely things we can die from.

i'll start:

a car crash

a spider crawling in your ear & laying eggs in your brain and the spiders that hatch eat you from the inside out

you touch my face & i kill you

a piece of the ceiling falling on you & crushing you to death

you accidently trip on your shoelace & land directly on your skull that cracks open

seeing michael jackson in your bed & you kill yourself

 @ at the examples

You're right, though.

^ So... why don't you go now and kill yourself? would it actually even matter?

my point is that you should enjoy the brief time we have here on earth & don't waste your time worrying about stupid things that you can't change. life is way too short, live w/ no regrets. plan like you'll live forever, live like you'll die tomorrow

no, I'm just hanging around for the tacos.

btw is that a dali pic in your avi?

 yes it was sort of... I just changed it.

But my question still remains unanswered: Where do pigs go when they have flu??

still dali! un chien andalou! the freakiest movie ever! :D

Hahah... yes... Do you like Dali's work? I've seen some surrealist movies lately so I got interested in the whole Surrealism movement.

Dear God, nobody respond to his question!

No, you have to.

An hour away from where you are?

Try actually being a student at where the first epidemic was >_<

Dali stood out to me while taking an art history class because he combines strangeness with really impressive artistic talent (unlike most abstract expressionism, pollock etc.). The interesting, cheezy textures fascinate me, but I also like how he's not entirely random but uses a lot of cool symbolism to in his work. The image doesn't always immediately reflect the title, you have to really study and make sense of something that looks very unrealistic.

I prefer daleks.

Today a kid called me a bitch

So I said "fuck you"

He cleverly responded "fuck you!"

I pwned by saying "I hope you get swine flu!"

I like the fact that his work is very psychologycal but some things are just too strange thought, :D like this work called The Great Masturbator.

lol yeah, some of his paintings are just groteque, but even then there's a weird balance and an intermixing of symbolic and provocative objects, even if it ain't too pretty...Like with the temptation of Saint Anthony that you showed a piece of before.

I particularly like my current avi because he used the same shapes to depict two different things. That is, narcissus staring over the water and the hand holding up the narcissus flower. I also like "Dream caused by the flight of a bumblebee around a pomegranate a second before awakening.", "The persistence of time" its lesser known decomposition...

and 'the average bureaucrat' (I like how he includes that little figure standing on the left side)

btw I'm an idiot when it comes to art. I don't paint and dali's one of the few artists I do know...

dude...there's a calendar on the wall right next to me with this painting as its month's picture. that was freaky. :stunned:
