do you turn off your computer or leave it on?

i was always told to turn it off but i seldom do. and right now i am at my uncle's house and it is thundering and i am contemplating if i should shut off the computer or not :/

Technically you're supposed to turn it off... It depends if you're a risk-taker or not. If you really wanna use it, use it. But of your power lines get struck by lightning, it could send a surge through your lines into your house and completely fry your computer. My friend freaks out and turns off his computer but I just leave mine on, nothing's ever happened to me. :P

turn it off!

quick!

then spin round 3 times touch your nose with your tongue and sit under a table with a clam :stunned:

 yeah what he said!!!!

i leave it on....but usually it turns off by itself...which pisses me off!!

my parents had their modem fried a couple years ago because they left the computer on during a storm. the rest of it was ok, i guess.

actually, now that i think about it, the reason the rest of my parents' computer wasn't fried is probably because they had a surge protector, but only for the computer, not the phone line.

:stunned:

:o old mother dies :/ :stunned:

 yeah although we don't get big ones over here :/ :smug:
