iTunes would be better

Featured Replies

If they let you listen to samples of the songs instead of making you pay a dollar per track without necessarilly knowing what the songs sounds like. People might actually use it instead of pirating stuff as much then, or that's my opinion, at least. I mean, you could just go to YouTube and listen to the full thing in most cases, but I still feel iTunes would be better and also more succesful if they did this.

Does anyone agree/disagree with me?

They actually do let you sample the songs. If you double click on the track, it'll open a 30 second sample of each song. I usually sample songs like this before I buy them (especially if it's a new artist that I haven't heard before, and I don't know what they sound like. It saves me from buying music that I don't like.)

It would be even better if it was a minute and 30 second samples, though. That way you could tell even more if it's something you want.

.....really?

dammit. I fail at iTunes then.

You have iTunes and you didn't know 30-second samples were available? :stunned:

Well I don't use it very often... I mean, basically never ever. I don't like paying an entire dollar for two minutes of music, thanks very much.

iTunes would be better if they gave away better free singles of the week.

iTunes would be better if it was free.

Get Rhapsody. It's a free 25 songs per month. No commitment whatsoever except an email address.

I like Amazon's mp3 service, too. Most often, their albums are much cheaper than Itunes (in fact, I bought Depeche Mode's new album - which is great by the way - for only $3.99.) And the quality is usually better than Itunes.

Itunes is better for finding new artists, though. And it's easier to use. Sometimes the mp3s from Amazon don't get added, so I have to manually add them to my Itunes. On the other hand, if you download from Itunes, it gets added automatically.

I like iTunes, thank you very much! :cheesy:

That it is, expensive.

Although i have yet to see tracks on their variable pricing.

Their variable pricing is shocking. They were selling songs for $2.19 rather than the standard price of $1.69 (AUD) for some songs like green day and eminem's new singles

Play Digital is my first stop for digital downloads now.
