Sober moment for Neda, the woman from Iran

Featured Replies

Well the Iranian government didn't just kill her. The number of executions in Iran have shot up 300% since Ahmadenejad became president there. People were being hanged for all sorts of stupid things.

Yes, this is what I read as well...I didn't want to be a martyr of a revolution which I was not really part of...that'd be wrong.

Well you are constantly in conflict with your government, even if you don't realize it. They steal from you, they threaten you, they kidnap you if you do something they disagree with.

sooo now I got it: She is an icon of the innocent not of the revolution.

This is random, but I had to put my thoughts about this in an order.

Yeah remember this isn't a "pro" anything revolution.

It's an ANTI revolution. Anti government!

OMG I've just have had a look into this magazine I get every week---there is an article about the protests and Neda---and there is this picture of her when she is bleeding out of her mouth and her nose and one eye....and you can see that she is already dead----I don't even want to watch this video--.-this picture scared me as hell.

This is not a rebel song!

I mean the fact that a woman becomes an icon or a martyr of a revolution she was not REALLY fighting for.

actually, she might not have been carrying a sign at the protest, but I think she was probably observing for a reason... the article makes her sound like an activist, whether or not that's true....
