So I'm Moving Into A Dormitory.

Featured Replies

In September.

There's two main first year dormitories at my school. And I got put into the party one.

Now everyone tells me that there will be vomit in the halls, and people banging on my walls all night. I didn't know if they were talking abouts fists or intercourse.

But apparently they supply earplugs at the front desk. No nose plugs, unfortunately.

Does anyone who has or has not lived in one have any dormitory tips for me?

It'll be a intriguing expeirence, it was for me. Hope you love it!

Mine was good and bad, I liked living with people but we had to all share a bathroom and that was hard. My roommate was from Burma and he taught me a lot about their culture.

Thanks.

And yeah, I'm probably most worried about the bathroom. We have like a big community bathroom I think. One per floor. So that'll be hectic.

Being stuck in the same dorm as Albie would be like a living nightmare!!:stunned:

As long as you're not a private person and get a good roommate, it should be fun.

Our floors bathroom had a "buddy toilet", it was a stall with two toilets because they were lazy when they had to make it wheel chair assessable and just took out the diving stall.

I had two of the worst roommates you could ever possibly imagine. I would say first things first is you should both come to an agreement on what time lights need to be out by, what time your friends should be gone by, etc. otherwise if you get too far into the year then you feel awkward saying anything. I had a roommate who asked me everyday if I wanted to do bible study and when I say every day I'm not lying. She also would blow dry her hair at 6am and type at 3am along with the lights on. Oh, and my other roommate would throw used toilet paper that should have been flushed in the trash...

No, no.

You can count on Albie for that.

Poor you. It sounds like you got stuck with the Christian fundamentalist zombie!!

:stunned:

I hope you managed to come out unscathed!!:P

I feel really bad for you. <.<

All of my experiences in dorms have sucked. Once, my roommate tried to change my sheets with me in them. =/

This is going from bad to worse!! You sure you guys weren't sleeping in psycho wards??

My advice to you is to make sure that you have a good, clean roomate. I had a roomate before that was completely physco and I was never so happy to get out of that room. Just to get through it, be a good roomate and try to make the best of it. :)

You make it sound like a prison cell!!:stunned:

^It was. I swear she had a mental problem of some sort. And she left trash everywhere. I just haven't had very good luck with roomates.

Now you're making it sound like a psychiatric unit!!:shocked2::stunned::shocked2:
