Okay, uh... the restrictions on last.fm are only for the last.fm radio (which I've never used). The website is really used to scrobble everything that you play from your itunes (or other media player) and shows how many plays of each artist you have. And you can compare your taste to other users. And other cool things like that.

I get 50 free tracks on the radio and free 30 second previews and I get to add artists to my profile.
