It's time to say thanks in a very big way

Ok folks - so here is my idea.....what if there is a way to some how sneak into the video footage during "The Hardest Part" as Chris and Will sing - video footage of their families - you know times they have spent together during the tour, during the break or even what families did while dad's were away (without the band knowing) so maybe they will know how much we appreciate and truly understand what they sacrifice as they are on tour.

I know this is not an easy task and the tour is coming to an end - but maybe it can be accomplished for their very last performance at Wembly.

If we can partition to do so - or if anyone out there has any pull to get this done, I would truly appreciate the help.

Thanks :sneaky:

I am so down for this. I put together some video montages for Oxfam together. I am pretty talented at video/picture editing, I'd be happy to help. If you guys would send me pictures I could put them together? Here is a piece of work I have done in the past...

I'm not sure, even if we'd find a way to make it work, they try to keep their families out of the spotlight.

Where would these pictures come from? Paparazzi pictures?

Sorry but I think there's nothing they'd like less than having their private life splashed on a huge screen in front of 90,000 people.

Is a nice thought though. :)

then how about pictures of them on stage?

I like the idea of thinking of ways to say thanks but not this way with family stuff etc...

:bigcry: [/nostalgia]

Joker - I love your piece great work!! I understand about them trying to keep pics of family private - but when all is said and done, they are who they return home to and waht a better send off.

they probably wouldn't even notice it happening. The audience probably wouldn't recognize any of the people except gwenyth paltrow, so they would be confused. The roadies would never allow it, if we managed to even contact them. changes in the show would have to be approved by the band anyway. AND if coldplay did see it... they would not know it was form the fans. they would think it was the roadies work. And if for some reason they did not like it(which im sure they wont), someone could get into a lot of trouble. I don't think this would ever happen.

Showing thanks to the band is good, but in showing our love for them, not their families. The Postcards From Far Away Project was brilliant.

milesahead89 you're half right. Production of the show would have to be altered and it would be hilariously confusing for the audience. But I like the posters aim and enthusiasm and she should go ahead for her dedication!

anyone tries to shoot videos of my family and try to make it into a music video gets a punch in the face. thats creepy no matter who it is.

No the plan is not to sneek and video their families - but like most families, we all take videos of everything - this would of course be with consent and help from the significant others and families.

Again - it is not to advertantly thank the families - but anyone who has a family realizes each precious moment we have with them. This band has now been touring over a year with little time to spend with their families. So to look up at the screen and see what they have missed and how we appreciate their sacrifice is the goal - that's it nothing creepy, nothing mean - no invasion of privacy

I repeat myself with saying that the general idea of thinking of ways to say thanks is good.

BUT

The band really tries to separate their private life from public appearances as much as possible.

Your idea is completely against their attempts!!!!

It would be quite impossible to pull this off as well.

Please, can we get away from all this "their family" thing?

And have you ever seen how Chris reacts when some stupid paps try to take pics of him and his children????

If we think of ways to say thanks it should be about the band, their music and what they give us fans ONLY.

anyone tries to shoot videos of my family and try to make it into a music video gets a punch in the face. thats creepy no matter who it is.

Plus, Coldplay is even more private than most other people. Chris just about wants to kill people who get near his family.

Please don't be offended by what I write but I think this is a really bad idea.

Firstly....

Something that jumps into my mind is that Chris has repeatedly said how touring is part of their job and that other people have to leave their families for months on end and do a much harder and more dangerous job than they do. In my opinion he and the rest of the band wouldn't like attention drawn to the fact that we think they are any more worthy than other people.

They earn good money for this job that "separates them from their families", it's their choice, they love it (or they wouldn't do it) and, as they are always saying, it's us that they are thankful to, we give them this lifestyle and career that they love so much.

Secondly..... I'm afraid I think it is a bit creepy and stalkerish to try and obtain secret footage of their private lives and plaster them all over Wembley. It would never be allowed by the promotors, band officials etc anyway. Have you seen the pics of how mad Chris gets when anyone comes near his children?

I would hate to see their faces if anything like this did happen :(

As you seem from your post count to be a new member perhaps you may not have seen all the "Politik" that goes with the band to keep the families and music apart.
