Discovery Channel has deteriorated too. :shame: Back in the day when I home-schooled I would start every morning with an educational bbc history series about ancient egypt or rome or the american revolution. Now they've dropped all the educational programming and just whore-out their schedules with mythbusters, deadliest catch, dirtiest jobs etc. (granted, I like mythbusters but it's a devolution from real meaningful programming). I don't think they even have wild discovery anymore, save for the once a year 'planet earth' specials...

Right now the most decent one is NatGeo. Discovery actually dedicates here one hour to wildlife, but most of the stuff is shit. I guess real meaningful stuff did not get enough attention. But the channel which has totally become pure shit it Animal Planet.
