Both yes and no. I've watched most of his movies but it kind of has more about my nationality then my interest. But still, he's cool dude. I loved Sjunde Inseglet when I was a kid even though I didn't understand most of it. The chess scene with death :wacky:

 

Yeah, I wrote a short paper about the seventh seal last week, and that sparked an obsessive interest. I love the subtle philosophical/existential themes in his movies, like, if I was a filmmaker, those are the types of movies I'd wish I had made. Anyway, I'm trying to educate myself on his filmography this week, I watched Summer with Monika yesterday, and Wild Strawberries day before that.

Yes I used to study Bergman, didn't have to write an entire paper on him just used his work for one chapter. Wild Strawberry's is a classic, and I've seen a few others but to be honest I can't remember their names and would only know them if I saw them again.

Sweet. It wasn't like a humongous research paper, just a five page reflection on how a certain artwork illustrates the human condition. We've finished the textbook, so for the remainder of the semester we'll probably just be watching a bunch of movies and then discussing them. I'm planning on suggesting one of his.
