Chelsea Banned From Transfer Dealings For Two Windows!!!!

Featured Replies

Chelsea have been banned from signing any new players in the next two transfer windows by Fifa.

The Premier League club was found guilty of inducing French winger Gael Kakuta, 18, to breach his contract with Lens when he joined in 2007.

"Chelsea is banned from registering any new players for the two next registration periods," a statement on Fifa's website read.

Chelsea can appeal against the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

The DRC ruled Kakuta must pay compensation of 780,000 euros (£682,000), for which Chelsea are "jointly and severally liable".

A spokesman for the London club told BBC Sport they were looking into the matter and hoped to issue a statement shortly.

Lens lodged a complaint with world football's governing body after Chelsea had signed the winger two years ago.

Now Fifa's dispute resolution chamber (DRC) has ruled Kakuta breached his contract with Lens and that Chelsea induced him to do so.

Fifa's statement continued: "The French club had lodged a claim with Fifa seeking compensation for breach of contract from the player and requesting also sporting sanctions to be imposed on the player and the English club for breach of contract and inducement to breach of contract.

"The DRC found that the player had indeed breached a contract signed with the French club. Equally, the DRC deemed it to be established that the English club induced the player to such breach."

Chelsea must pay additional "training compensation" of 130,000 euros (£114,000) to Lens, while the player has been banned from playing in official matches for four months.

Kakuta ended 2007/8, his first season with Chelsea, as the youth team's top scorer and was voted the academy's player of the year.

His second season was brought to an abrupt end in February when he suffered a double fracture of his ankle.

The next transfer window is between 1-31 January 2010 and the opportunity to register new players after that coming at the end of the current season until 31 August (Europe) and 1 September, (Britain) 2010.

OH SHIT

That now means Man City won't have any competition at all in the transfer market!:dozey:

Deserve it fully I can say. Dirty scamming scumbags. This isn't the first time. Remember John Obi Mikel... that was suspicious and they got away with it then... not this time. Chelsea's squad lack youth that inject that something extra. They're in trouble.

I've never forgiven them for luring Scott Parker away from The Valley and then sticking him in the reserves, starting the Addicks' decline when they were actually flying pretty high at the time.

Yeah man, losing Scott Parker is the sole reason they are now a joke of a club.

In terms of "status", they'll never be as much of a joke as Newcastle, though!:laugh3:

What a shambles!!

HAHA YEAH YOU RE SO RIGHT

Other than the fact that we've completely sorted out all of the players who didn't want to be here and are currently top of the Championship defying critics with our heart felt performances and our fans getting behind the club

WHAT A LAUGHING STOCK WE TRULY ARE

Newcastle are a bigger joke than Charlton. You've struggled to get ONE half decent manager the past 5 years. Joe Kinnear? Yes did I hear that? Joke In Here, that's what that cockney twat is. And you've got 4 moobs Ashley running the club! You know I don't know HOW Roland Emmerich has missed this disaster story. It would have made a brilliant blockbuster!

Who was our "decent" manager, just out of interest? I don't really give a fuck what's happened in the past. I'm talking about now.

Ashley's departure is inevitable and we'll soon have a young manager with lots of potential to build our team from the great foundations we currently have at the club.

Spot on!! The difference is, nobody expects anything of Charlton, and they actually did incredibly well to stay in the Prem for as long as they did (even beating Newcastle on several occasions), whereas the Toon have been under-achieving for YEARS.

Apart from Leeds, they are the standing joke of English football!!:laugh3:

Also, I hate to point this out, but Nathan never said that Charlton were a bigger joke than Newcastle. He never said Charlton were a joke in the slightest. He said Newcastle weren't a joke.

Yeah, but as I said, Nathan never mentioned Charlton and didn't insult them or brand them a joke...

Heard it all before. They'll almost certainly end up shooting themselves in the foot again.

Alright Mystic Meg. You haven't heard it before at all though.

Yeah, but as I said, Nathan never mentioned Charlton and didn't insult them or brand them a joke...

Irrelevant, as usual.

I've made a huge mistake...

Newcastle have to get rid of Ashley obviously and yes get rid of the dead wood and give Newcastle a refreshing change of youth taken from the youth team. But who's the young manager you're talking about? Chris Hughton or somebody else. I think he's been treading water recently but the recent signs are encouraging? Don't get Alan Shearer. May have been a great player but doesn't convince me at all that he has the quality to manage Newcastle United.

Ashley IS gone, like I said it's an inevitablity. We've got rid of most of our deadwood now I feel, Coloccini has to go if we want to get back to the top flight, but for now he does a job. Hughton needs so much praise for the amazing work he's done, but he's not a long term manager.

And I'm sorry but I feel like you don't understand how much our club needs Shearer as manager, we need someone who understands the club, commands the respect of the players and is also somebody the fans want. Shearer is all 3 of those, the problem we've had in the past is having someone who doesn't tick all 3 boxes. You may call him out on inexperience, but it hasn't stopped people before in the past and I am fairly certain he will bring an experienced assistant in with him to help him out, with Hughton there as well, he'd have a very experienced staff room of people who know what the club needs and will strive to achieve it.

Charlton are doing alright so far in league 1. The drop down to League 1 was for the best. Gives you a chance to re gather yourself. A certainty to return to the Championship. May be a fair chance of Curbs returning next season I feel that's if he doesn't join a club like Newcastle by then.
