Charlton are doing alright so far in league 1. The drop down to League 1 was for the best. Gives you a chance to re gather yourself. A certainty to return to the Championship. May be a fair chance of Curbs returning next season I feel that's if he doesn't join a club like Newcastle by then.

Yes, I am of the opinion that being relegated was actually a blessing in disguise.

Parky needed time to change things around and things are looking quite good thus far.

Who do you support, by the way?

You cannot look through rose tinted glasses this time TGE! You have to get the BEST man out there. In 2008 and 2007 you missed out on the chance to get one of Houllier and Didier Deschamps for manager, 2 FANTASTIC managers especially Deschamps. Oh and you had a chance for Sven before he went to Man City. Instead you got the GOD AWFUL Sam Allardyce and Keegan who could have taken you to the top 10 in the Prem last season BUT he had an awful record of bailing out from club/national management. The best manager out there at the moment? Try Alan Curbishley.

Liverpool. Don't get me started on Hicks and Gillett. They are slowly strangling the club because of their ineptness. Oh and TGE, why do they need a manager who understands the fans? Do you think Fabio Capello got to where he has in his career unterstanding the fans? No he learnt the fans during his time at clubs. Sorry but you're living in cloud cuckoo land thinking that former Newcastle employees are the only ones that can lead the club to success. If I was Newcastle chairman I'd say "I don't give a fuck what the fans want, I'm getting the BEST there is". Sadly that's not been the mentality of you lot and that's why you are where you are. Sad but true.

Correct. The problem is they live in their own microcosmic world. Fabio Capello is the best thing that could have happened to the England team. We might even have a chance of actually doing something in the finals next year.;)

Yes, I too think Capello is capable of something next year with England but you've got to keep it quiet unlike 2006! The man suffers no fools, TEACHES the England team how to play football, HATES bling and best of all is diminishing the WAG culture that embarrassingly plaqued the team 3 years ago. The man is one of my idols because he's the dictator and disciplinarian that football lacks these days. He's also intelligent - a rarity in football these days. I was delighted when he was announced England manager and it was a disgrace the FA overlooked him in 2000 and 2006 when he would so easily say yes. As the man said a few years back "I have no intention of managing Italy. The only international side I want to manage is England" That was a come and get me plea years ago!

I totally agree. Let's hope it isn't too late. Italy won the last world cup with a mediocre team, so there's no reason why England couldn't do it too.

The key to England's world cup bid will be the defence.

And which goalkeeper they use??

HAHA YEAH YOU RE SO RIGHT

Other than the fact that we've completely sorted out all of the players who didn't want to be here and are currently top of the Championship defying critics with our heart felt performances and our fans getting behind the club

WHAT A LAUGHING STOCK WE TRULY ARE

Stay top by next April and that would be good, but as the championship is a competitive league have a bad run will send you down to mid-table

England is not even comparable to a club team.

When did I say they have to be former Newcastle employees? The idea of you running my club is fucking scary.

Graeme Souness was exactly the appointment you are talking about, the fans didn't want him, he didn't understand the club, but he was "the best" option. He ultimately failed, Newcastle are a different club to others and you just don't understand what the club needs.

Wrong. Souness wasn't the "best" out there. Obviously IF Newcastle had the chance of getting a Mourinho or Arsene Wenger you lot would say "We don't want them because they don't understand the fans".

Are you suggesting they're prejudiced against anyone non-Geordie??:P

If that's the case, maybe they should give Gazza a try (assuming he's not having yet another spell in rehab).

I wouldn't be surprised you know.
