e!f
if this thread has already opened forgive me but, i feel uncomfortable about this song's lyric now. what do you think, what is the point of this song?
Fil_D
Well I think it might have several meanings. First of all the lyrical I tries to save somebody from something which has a bad influence on the person. Drugs, Prostitution, wrong friends. The lyrical I sees himself as a saviour who tries to keep the person from danger. He gives the person the feeling of beeing secure and that the person can trust the lyrical I "knot your fingers through mine".

noonsun
I think it's about how everyone searches for a meaning in life and he just says the bit about "god in my garden" to show that he thinks it's there somewhere but he doesn't understand it. I don't think it's about a god in particular. But I'm atheist so that's probably part of the reason.
Guest howyousawtheworld
I think this song is basically about Martin's (or someone elses) quest for God. Who or what is God, and what's God's purpose???
The Final Track
A song that reminds of Charles Dickens novels says Chirs, and I can figure his mood when he wrote it.
