Coldplaying@Hogwarts
I have always wondered how the band comes up with such amazing titles, songs, and lyrics. I think "A Rush Of Blood To The Head" is about a lovesick, power-hungry arsonist. (The lyrics are proof enough) "Violet Hill" is a love song from Chris, who just got drafted in the army during a holy war. "Viva La Vida" is a soliloquy sung by a man who was king of an empire, was usurped by revolutionaries, and then goes to Heaven, only to become a fallen angel and drift into Hell. That literally made me laugh out loud:laugh3::laugh3::laugh3: "Yes" is about infidelity and lust "The Hardest Part" is definitely a break up song. Coldplaying@Hogwarts
I think "Yes" is Chris singing to all his female fans, pleading with them to all do him~ Either that, or it's an incubus lusting after an innocent woman. Obviously, "Sparks" is the ultimate first-kiss song. Just a sweet song about love. "A Message" is both a song about sending love to those in need and a song about proclaiming your love to someone you care about.
graceberryman
Well, I usually analyze all the songs I listen to by Coldplay. Like "Death and All His Friends" is saying to avoid rushing through life or it will lead to consequences like death and all his friends, but everyone knows that, right? graceberryman
The Goldrush is about trying to satisfy your significant other with gifts and stuff. Like "Bring me back a diamond/ring because I really want one" But it may be more than just gifts.

Yes, I'm sure a professional lyricist writes every song literally. There is no such thing as symbolism. People are so dumb.
