Coldplay, the Musical

Wouldn't it be cool if there was one?

Help me finish my idea.

The Overture (an extended version of Life In Technicolor i) finishes and the yellow curtain goes up. On stage on a throne is the exiled King Chris (played by Chris Martin, of course) wearing a crown and surrounded by glowing leaves. He begins singing the chorus of Viva La Vida slowly, a cappella, when he begins to talk about his life as an orphan. As he talks, the scene changes, and we see a young boy, apparently the young Chris, about 11, walking down a road with his three best friends (of course, they will grow up to be Coldplay's Jonny, Will, and Guy) going to school. They're talking (or should I say singing?) about the stars at night (Yellow) They get to school, and their principal asks them if they will come into his office. He asks the four of them to try a "special candy" that will determine if one of them is the long-lost son of the king, who is dying and needs an heir. Will, Jonny, and Guy try the "candy" but nothing happens. Chris is last, and he puts the candy in his mouth. Immediately, he begins to prophecize what sounds utter nonsense, but is in fact the lyrics to the king's favorite song (42) As soon as the prophecy is finished, young Chris is whisked away to the castle (Reign of Love) where the king, on his deathbed, gives Chris his royal blessing...

Let's see...

The king dies, and is buried in a solemn funeral (Cemeteries of London) The scene changes, and soon Prince Chris and his friends are in high school. He hasn't seen them for 5 years, since he was in royal training and they continued their education. Chris realizes he's in love with all three of his friends at once (Shiver) and asks them to come over to the castle for a sleepover. Unfortunately, Chris is forced to join the royal army in preparation for not only coronation, but for a possible holy war. After field training, Chris is stowed away on a ship in the royal navy, where he writes to his friends in his cabin (Violet Hill) After the threat of war fades, Chris returns to the castle, where his friends await....

After the band is formed, Chris recieves a letter that the coronation ceremony will occur in one week, and he may never see his friends again once he is king. He is saddened by this news, as are his friends, so he takes them on a camping trip/picnic in his favorite glade in the woods. (Strawberry Swing) Chris tells his friends he loves them dearly. Guy, Will, and Jonny apparently fell in love with Chris when they saw each other in high school after 5 years without Chris. (Sparks) They all reminisce about the times they had before, and look at the sky, shimmering with stars... (Yellow)

Act Two...

Chris has been King for quite some time now. We see in a flashback how he traveled to Japan with his three knights, Sirs Jonny, Guy, and Will (Lovers in Japan) Unfortunately, the high spirits felt at the beginning of his reign are at all-time lows: a holy war has just ended, with King Chris having served in combat while much of the kingdom was destroyed by invaders (Prospekt's March)

Chris is nervous that he may be overthrown and left to die alone (Death and All His Friends)

One night, he has a prophecy in a dream that shows him burning down the kingdom to impress his three lovers/knights (A Rush Of Blood To The Head) Apparently his friends had the same dream he had, and quickly decide to try the "42" test with another schoolboy....

Wow! That sounds amazing. But I am sure one day (like 20 yrs from now) someone would make a movie on their songs :p (someone = me :D)

Movie and Play will be the same. I love your idea ;)
