PianoRocker
You can find it out very easy, play the strings open(no frets). That's what 'open' means. So, when you play your guitar in 'open' strings you play G major, so just 'open' G

Makayla
Your guitar tabs are wrong. My brother is playing it right now in front of me and i showed him your tabs and he can't believe that you guys think Chris Martin plays such awful chords. He figured it out just about exact to Chris's playing in a matter of 10 minutes or so. I'm sorry for whoever spent 5 painstaking hours.

Coldplayplusjuanes
so what are the chords to wedding bells? tune first string down to D 1st e|---0-----------------------------------------------------------------------| B|---8------------------------------------------------------------------------| G|---0------------------------------------------------------------------------| D|---9------------------------------------------------------------------------| A|---10-----------------------------------------------------------------------| E|---0------------------------------------------------------------------------| 2nd e|----0-----------------------------------------------------------------------| B|----7-----------------------------------------------------------------------| G|----0-----------------------------------------------------------------------| D|----9-----------------------------------------------------------------------| A|----9----------------------------------------------------------------------| E|----8--use thumb--------------------------------------------------------| 3rd e|---0-----------------------------------------------------------------------| B|---3------------------------------------------------------------------------| G|---0-----------------------------------------------------------------------| D|---5------------------------------------------------------------------------| A|---5------------------------------------------------------------------------| E|---4 thumb------------------------------------------------------------------------| 4th e|---0------------------------------------------------------------------------| B|---8-----------------------------------------------------------------------| G|---0------------------------------------------------------------------------| D|---0------------------------------------------------------------------------| A|---10------------------------------------------------------------------------| E|----9-----------------------------------------------------------------------| then do the 3rd chord, then 1st then 2nd then 3rd again
PianoRocker
I'll give it a try to transcribe it tomorrow.:) Maybe funny but a bit hope. We can make it a 'game'. So if we all know how to play it we can make a game so we all finish it our own way. And when Coldplay releases the song we can look who had made the closest full song to their version. But the thing is, will they ever release it? But still kinda cool for a game to see who did it the best in Coldplay style.. :) what you guys think? PianoRocker
I just did a fast try and I found out that he mostly plays the C chord on different places. First of all, the song is in standard tuning, yes indeed just the normal tuning. Like you said: 1st e|---0------| B|---8------| G|---0------| D|---9------| A|---10-----| D|---0------| It's wrong, and almost good but change it to: 1st e|---0------| B|---7------| G|---0------| D|---9------| A|---10-----| E|---0------| If you play with this it will take 5 minutes to find out the whole song he's playing. Just play it in different places and add some extra notes, but keep this as the basic pattern.

xsarehardcorex
I figured I may as well give the song a full, sober, crack so here goes Standard tuning just doesn't sound right to me, especially if you watch the longer version with Chris talking at the beginning, so I'm going to stick with E A D G B D tuning. Its difficult to hear because for much of the song the 1st string is muted, however in a number of chords you can clearly hear a high D rather than E. As per usual with Chris, notes on the 6th string are nearly always played with the thumb. "Those wedding bells are..." D|--(0)-(0)-0-0----0-| B|---7--8--3--8----3-| G|---0--0--0--0----0-| D|---9--9--x--x----x-| A|-10-10--5--10--5-| E|-------8--3--8---3-| "I always loved you and I always will" D|-0-0----| B|-3-1-3-| G|-2-0-0-| D|-4-2-x-| A|-x-3-5-| E|-2-3-3-| "La la la la..." D|-0-0-0-| B|-1-3-3-| G|-0-2-0-| D|-2-4-x-| A|-3-x-5-| E|-3-2-3-| Then this part is played until Chris goes back to "I always loved you..." You have to adjust the index finger down a fret from 7-8 for the first, and 8-7 on the 2nd. Also it is not 9-10....it's 10-10 for the 2nd chord. That's the way Chris plays it if you look closely from 0:23 and onwards.
