Coldplay on The Soup

Featured Replies

Yeah, they were mentioned in a clip where a contestant on the show, So You Think You Can Dance, was "dancing" (if you want to call it that) to Viva la Vida. I can't remember the whole clip but all I can remember Joel labeled it "Scoldplay" and said that was the manliest dance ever to a Coldplay song. I think he was also talking about Tom Deschael who is on Dancing With The Stars. Joel was really making fun of the guys who were dancing and not Coldplay per se. I haven't come across the clip on E's YouTube channel so I don't know if it's available.

They're terribly stingy when it comes to putting up clips on YouTube.

I have a subscription, so I'll go check.

Checked, not officially uploaded.

I saw the episode when Coldplay was mentioned. Joel wasn't making fun of them, but the dancer on the show.

Yeah there was some dancer on so you think you can suck do like an interpretive dance to Viva la Vida and it was odd. He didn't make fun of them though.

I know but I love when Coldplay is mentioned on TV. :D

Joel did kind of make fun of Coldplay. After showing the clip of the guy crazily dancing to Viva, he said that was the most manly Coldplay has ever been performed...implying that our boys are NOT manly...he instantly followed it up by mumbling that he loves Coldplay. That made it all okay. :)

They may not be manly but they make more money in a week then he will in his entire life. Plus they have thousands of girls that would throw themselves at them. Seems better than being manly.

Why get so defensive? He makes jokes for a living.

Huh?? Joel was not making fun of them. If you saw the clip you would know that he was referring to how girls mainly dance to Coldplay and how unmanly this guy was.

Erm...defensive much? It was a cuddle wrapped in an insult.

It is Joel's job

jeez... and i saw it it was funny.

Yea I saw it. After they showed the clip Joel said something like "Coldplay has never been performed in such a manly way"

I laughed for a bit until I realized.. "hey wait a minute!.." :P
