Coldplay, Radiohead, Beck, The Kooks, and Oasis are among the artists that will be featured on War Child: 10, a new compilation that will be released Dec. 1 through Universal.

The collection marks the 10th anniversary of War Child's founding in Canada, and features some covers of classic songs by the likes of Bob Dylan, Neil Young and others. It also features a new recording of Patti Smith's "People Have The Power" by Friends Of War Child, a group that includes The Cliks' Lucas Silveira, Chantal Kreviazuk, Liam Titcomb and Shiloh.

All proceeds from sales of the album will be donated to War Child, which is an international charity working to support children affected by war in developing countries by promoting children's rights, education and poverty reduction.

War Child currently operates in Afghanistan, Sudan and its Darfur region, Uganda, Sierra Leone, the Democratic Republic Of The Congo, Ethiopia, Sri Lanka and Georgia.

Here are the artists and songs on War Child: 10:

Coldplay — "How You See The World No. 2"

The Kooks — "Victoria"

Jimmy Eat World — "Firestarter"

Beck — "Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat"

Muse — "House Of The Rising Sun"

Radiohead — "I Want None Of This"

New Order — "Vietnam"

Wolfmother — "Don't Let It Bring You Down"

Oasis — "Fade Away"

Beth Orton — "Ooh Child"

Friends Of War Child — "People Have The Power"

Sy'rai featuring A.U.C.A.Y.D. — "Let It Rain" (bonus track)

nice compilation

Some good stuff. Maybe I'll buy it:)

I know it's for charity but isn't this a bit old to go on here and didn't we already have it on the HELP charity CD a few years back?! I got excited when I first started reading this as I thought it might be a new song or version of something... oh well.

....and Radiohead already had that song on a charity album.

oh nice compilation, love most of the bands on it!

And most of all I will never forget this War Child Gig last february....

Seems to be a nice group of songs they have gathered for the album :D

Darn! I have been hoping for a good version of the "All The Things That I Have Done" Coldplay/Killers/Bono/Barlow encore.

Ha, the Oasis' "War Child" version of Fade Away has been on so many of these compilations, its getting flogged!
