dead on? rather dead i guess...

sorry, this tab is pretty inaccurate! the intro is wrong and the chords are also. you don't hammer on the high e string, it's the G as far as i recall... i found it out partly, some time ago... you can have a very close look on jonny's hand when you watch this video where chris has this little keyboard for kids and jonny with his guitar...

might have been "60 minutes" or whatever it's called... you'll find it on youtube anyway

Yeah, you're right, it is the G-string for the album version and yes, he plays it on the G in the 60 minutes (I can't remember if it was for 60 minutes or not) video too.

However, they change the key for the acoustic version. And because the title of this thread says (Acoustic version), I boldly assumed that the OP wanted tabs for the acoustic version

Listen to the Acoustic release of the song.

Overall it is the closest tab I have come across for the acoustic version. It's not perfect, but it is definitely not dead wrong, as you claim it is.

That version is a bit off. I don't think anyone's quite come up with a definitive tab of the acoustic version, I'm still working on it myself, but I can tell you there's a capo on the 7th fret and it works around a Dsus2 chord for parts of it.

It seems like that capo 7 would be more logical than the tabs I posted previously. I would love to see the tabs when you complete it. Keep us updated :D
