April 6, 201016 yr My Dad is hilarious. I forgot how it started, but my mom asked what my religious/philosophical beliefs are, and so for a minute I intelligently and calmly explain my worldview and my objections to Christianity. For a couple minutes we actually have some interesting discussion, but like always my Dad gets really heated (he's antagonistic towards fundamentalists, while my mom is sort of a passive Christian) and instead of contributing to the dialectic starts angrily shouting out ridiculous generalizations and ad hominems, always contradicting himself on the rare moment we get to point out that he's being absurd. He's the same about politics. My mom and I are cool as cucumbers, but since he doesn't care what anyone has to say, he just takes our open exchange of ideas and uses the opportunity to be loud and obnoxious to where he doesn't even let us talk.
April 6, 201016 yr enh, I don't really find O'reilly bad at all, although he does have a knack for interrupting. My Dad is the worst (or best? ) at his profession I can think of.
April 6, 201016 yr Author I'm not a regular O'Reilly viewer, but I've seen the highlights I guess. When he's shouting at that guy who lost his father in 9/11, and he's calmly stating his views on the war and O'Reilly yells at him "You see EVEN I'm angrier about it then you are!!!" He seems terrible.
April 6, 201016 yr He can be rambunctious, but I feel he gets overly caricatured. Not that I'm a regular watcher either.
April 6, 201016 yr My best friend just got her first boyfriend. I found out from my mom, who found out from my friend's mom.
