I was playing knights of cydonia, and then recognized my need for a whammy bar. My guitar has a hole where one goes in. Do I just buy the bar and put in the hole?

Yeah pretty much. Take the guitar to the store with you though when purchasing the whammy bar. Not all of the sizes are the same, and then you might end up like me who has a strat with a whammy bar that is loose and doesn't sit right.

Well, my uncle just brought over a whammy bar, and it didn't fit in the hole xD.
