I am quite bored so I made this thread.

 

I was thinking about the bands that have competed with Coldplay in 2008 for greatest band at the time when they released Viva, and was thinking who will it be this time round. Who will be releasing a album the same time as Coldplay and battling it out and maybe surpassing Coldplay???? Is it possible????

 

Of course we do not have the release date but we can guess around a bit.

 

So start posting the bands you think will.

Kings of Leon are said to have a album out in the fall. There are still rumors that U2 may put out a second album of songs from the NLOTH sessions to coincide with the new leg of the 360 tour. The Arcade Fire's new album will be out by this fall as will a new disc from Radiohead. Franz Ferdinand are working on a new album as are The Strokes although that record has now been pushed back to 2011. Keane of course has an EP out this summer but are also said to have a new album in the works. We still are not sure if the new Coldplay album will be out by the end of this year but no matter how you look at it there is a lot of great new music heading our way.

True, but it's under unfortunate circumstances. The Killers are taking a hiatus because Brandon Flowers' mom recently died of brain cancer.
