The Left Side Of My Earphones Literally Always Break First.

Featured Replies

IS THIS HOW IT WORKS FOR YOU ALL? Because NEVER have the right side broken first for me. After a year of having/using these shitty iPod headphones (they've stood up AMAZINGLY, surprised at how durable they are) the left side is crapping out on me (which gives me an excuse to get a pair of NOT SHIT earphones so this is a

It's really weird, I've broken tons of shit earphones and they ALWAYS break left side first. Like at least 5 pairs now. Weird weird. :wtf:

And while I'm at it, any earphone suggestions? I'm probably going to get Sony in-ear earphones because I've had them before and they were quite good, stayed in my slightly misshapen ears realllly well and had really nice clear quality and a nice bass. But I'm open to suggestion.

I think I used to have the exact same problem, but I think for me it was the right side ear that would break first.

In terms of headphones I really like these (Sony MDR-V150)... they're also pretty cheap. I got them at Best Buy for like $25:

To be honest I really need headphones, just I also need some in-ear earphones because they are just SO portable and awesome... the Sony in-ear ones I got were at Best Buy too, for about $30 -- I'd say they're a steal. I think I'll give your headphones a shot though, my dad said I can use his in-ears because he never uses them anymore, so score for hand-me-downs. I need to find the ear things they came with so they fit in my ears though.

edit: OO yeah Lauren asks a REALLY good question, I want noise-canceling ones a LOTZ

Same here, and then I always have to tape the cord down a certain way so it works. :wacky:

And then it's always the right side that dies completely first even though it was working fine. :wthinking:

It seems like the left side always breaks first for me too.

I suggest Koss. I've gone through so many different brands, and this one definitely has the best sound quality and bass! It cancels noise too. They cost about $28. They also come with three different sized rubber thingies so they fit anyone's ears.

Ah, I had some Koss ones a while ago... I didn't like them. If they really cancelled noise I didn't notice, and the buds they came with did not fit in my ears right (I tried a bunch of combinations, it was a shape thing, not a size thing.). I mean they were okay but I wouldn't get them again. And I didn't notice any "noise-canceling" besides the noise-canceling that ALL in-ear earphones do. So it was pretty :blank:.

@Mike: Phooey. :( No noise-cancelling headphones are cheap :/

yeah... but still the ones i posted I really like alot.

edit: ifyou can check them out. I think they're worth it

Well, I mean, I don't go on airplane trips or even in crowded places very often, so I don't really NEED noise-cancelling, just when I'm studying and stuff sometimes I really like absolute silence so noise-cancelling headphones are still really appealing to me. I may go with those that you suggested, although I've found a couple of decently cheap noise-canceling headphones on Google, my only concern is that maybe they're sacrificing quality... I wish places like Best Buy let you try these things on for comfort/sound quality tests before you bought them, would make things a lot less stressful for me, haha.

Same here.

I can't buy expensive earphones. I usually go through 1 pair every week or two, and earphones here are $10+, which is a lot for myself.

the best i've heard of for noise cancelling is Bose...but i think they're really expensive
Yes. Not going to shell out over $200 for my listening experience... yes I like high quality sound but NO I am NOT going to pay that much... most of my stuff is 256 kbps or else 192 kbps (I like to tell myself that I can genuinely tell the difference, haha... I think I can most of the time) too... so at a certain point with headphone quality you just get diminishing returns because the audio file itself is not lossless, it's compressed. So yes. Not going to pay for Bose ones, unless I get lots of money, then I will.

^They don't have sample ones out in the Best Buy stores?

Yes, Bose is good, and yes expensive.

I don't think so. Not at mine anyway.

Good choice. I have pink ones, really good.

... the Sony in-ear ones I got were at Best Buy too, for about $30 -- I'd say they're a steal.
Yeah, I have those, I really like them. Great sound, stay in my ear perfectly (I had to use the small buds). And most of the time if you buy them online at Best Buy, it's cheaper than if you buy them in the store; and instead of having them shipped to you and paying S&H, you can just choose the option to pick them up in the store. If you're gonna go to the store anyway to get them, you might as well trick them into paying less.

My husband has some crazy noise-canceling earphones/buds. They are the Shure brand, and I think he spent about $300 on them. That's insane, I couldn't do that. Although I must admit they work great; he let me try them on, stood next to me and was yelling at the top of his lungs to test how well they worked, and I couldn't hear him. Pretty cool.

Gah, I had some really nice Sony ones for $20, really pretty sound. I threw them out thinking they broke, when it was in fact my iPod earphone socket that had broken :disappointed: how I miss thee, nice Sony earphones.

I changed 5 earphones only for this month. Just because the left side broke first. Sheesh.

you could buy a JBL headphones, it's not that expensive. Tho the one I have has a prominent convex sides, so its not comfortable when I lying sideways. Nice bass and you can't hear anything outside if the volume's up.

:( That sucks. I almost never throw earphones away directly after they break for some reason. I guess because I figure one day I may need earphones that only require one side to work.

That always happens to me! :wacky: The left side always breaks. I found this pair of earphones that are really good and they were only $10 dollars though, and I have no complaints about them.
