Featured Replies

been looking for another job cause the hours at my old one are bad

i walked into a coffeeshop here and this is the conversation i had there

me: are yall hiring?

manager: i doubt it

me: do you know if by chance yall would be in the future?

manager: for someone like you, i dont think so...

let's just say im never going back there again!

Welcome to the real world.

i kind of expected a cheap attitude from a teenager

the manager was this old man probably around his 60s

i usually make a habit of applying for jobs in my birthday suit

says the guy with a sig like that

I'm rich by birth my dear Braddock.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

that's terrible.

I had a similar situation (though not as bad), where I applied for a job, and they wanted for me to come for an interview. I did but they had another meeting and pushed mine a 1/2 hour further. So I did the interview (which I don't think went so well), but still they said they'd keep in touch.

...They never did call or send and email or anything. I think it's extremely rude, and feel they could've taken 2 minutes to say "we're sorry but the position has been filled".

so I could see how it can be frustrating to apply for a job

yeah my friend was supposed to have a trial last weekend but when he turned up for it they said they gave the job to somebody else. didn't even bother to let him know till he was actually there

Surely you would go in ready with a letter of application and CV ready, no?

and maybe saying something like,

"Is there any current open positions?" or "Is your business currently hiring?"

instead of "Are y'all Hiring ?"

And then asking if you may give him your letter

and to contact you if there is any suitable jobs available.

It's just a suggestion.

But it was rude of him.

Did you asked them why he/she would say that? What's wrong with you? If they still insult you then insult them back and then leave. Who would want to work for someone like that anyway?

i just said thank you for your time and walked out

just because he acted like a jackass doesnt mean i have to act like one

What an ass. :surprised: The world is such a cruel place. :freak:

yeah but you are missing the point. You are letting it affect you. I would still want to know what they meant by that so that whatever their response was then use it to your advantage for next time..
