August 2, 201015 yr Yup, My friends and I were like :wtf: asked what about someone's upbringing ? the situation? she said it was god's inscription
August 2, 201015 yr That's why I dislike religion. People like that try to force in your mind the idea of doing absolutely nothing, not even breathing because it's bad, according to them.
August 2, 201015 yr I had to sit in with my friend's religion class, the teacher went on about on how god's inscribes it in you :wtf: And how you wouldn't steal from a shop because of this "inscription" well that remind me when at my cousins' first communion mass, when the priest was going to give the kids the wine and so -dunno the english word for the other thing- and he said: 'you are going to receive a power and you have to be ready, and use it for good. think is like spiderman, you watched the movie, right?, he got his powers and use them for good, though he could had chosen to use them for bad, but you will do as he did and use it for good, being good kids and being christians, right?' that was priceless  edit: btw what does the teacher mean by the 'inscription'? the original sin thing or it refered to destiny, or what?
August 3, 201015 yr edit: btw what does the teacher mean by the 'inscription'? the original sin thing or it refered to destiny, or what? pretty sure they're talking about the C.S. Lewis argument that man is universally endowed with a knowledge of right conduct and behavior, behavior that often goes against self interest, like risking one's life to save someone else.
August 5, 201015 yr Yeah, I just love how everything that happens to the western world is like the biggest deal ever and they just like to exaggerate on stuff.. I don't know about the second part. I don't think I'm any less sympathetic or feel less connected to people from other cultures or religions etc. The only barrier would be probably the distance if it were another country or maybe I wouldn't even happen to know about it. Maybe I would only be less sympathetic to people I don't like but sometimes, if they're in real trouble or quite vulnerable I just can't help doing something about it, cause then what dislike I feel for them just vanishes in a way and it could change how I feel about them.. hmm, it's all so complex haha Also, a lot of the time I like to randomly think about people around the world and wonder what's life there. I like Google Earth a lot, it's like you're discovering the world in the comfort of your own home. I just pick random places to check out and see what the architecture is like or whatever comes up in the piccies thingie. It's great.
August 5, 201015 yr I remember this topic coming up in my philosophy class once. I think it comes two-fold. First I think the roots and base level of morality comes from from the basis of societies beliefs or rules that have been made. I think after that there's also how your were raised and your parents morals that influence morality. I think of the two that your parents moral influence on you might be more important.
August 5, 201015 yr haha I edited mo post away :P didn't thing anyone would have alreay read it . sorry yeah I don't mean all people feel less connected..but some are (nationalists, egoists..) IDk I was just babbling haha that's why I edited it away and you're obviously a good person, Lana  :D yeah learning about different cultures is fun :)

(especally if your relationship with them doesn't undergo any major crisis and your socialization is succesful) dlfsdfsdfsnfgö etc.
