Beautiful album.

 

For those of you who are unenlightened, Anaïs Mitchell is a singer/songwriter based in Vermont who's latest album, Hadestown, is a 20-track folk-opera, based on the myth of Orpehus and Eurydice.

Great song. My fav has to be Way Down Hadestown, Ben Knox Miller has such a strong voice.

Yeah, his voice is amazing.

I think what I love the most on that track, aswell as on other tracks,

is the contrast between the voices.

There's something to that :thinking: thinking of Greg Brown?

I had no idea there was an official album for this! :facepalm: I only heard about Hadestown about a month ago when I found a live recording. I still have yet to listen to the entire performance and songs.

Mrs. Mitchell tops AnyDecentMusic's average review list for 2010 with 8.9, over Joanna Newsom's Have One On Me and Aracade Fire's The Suburbs at 8.6 and 8.5 repectively :nice:
