some people will seriously go crazy

I didn't know it started that early. :shocked2:

I feel sorry for you guys. I hated the way it was celebrated where I lived in Switzerland. It wasn't really about getting dressed up for most people. it was basically an excuse for married men to go to a restaurant where they get served by a half naked waitresses and get absolutely wasted. Loads of restaurants had strippers too. The strange thing was that everyone seemed to be ok with it. How i love Carnival. :dozey:

And is the "carnival" music in Switzerland just as awful as that in Germany too?

The costumes are bad enough, but it's the terrible songs that really take the biscuit.:dozey:

Yep! There's actually plenty of people who play this type of music all year. They usually play it at birthday parties, village celebrations and weddings.

Wait, Swiss people celebrate things?!

Well I will be on an 8 night holiday on my own in Auckland (New Zealand's largest city) from the 10th till the 18th of November next year.

I must admit bands like Bläck fööss aren't THAT awful. I think they are part of our culture and their music is ok.....whereas the Mallorca music played is awful yeah....I think this music shouldn't be played on Karneval...it's ok if people celebrate, but if they just celebrate it to get super drunk and make out with each other and such then it gets disgusting...
