October 25, 200322 yr I have to get ready in like a sec for netball! You should've asked me before lol oh well.
October 25, 200322 yr alright when will u be back? few hours? tomorrow? i need someone chill to talk with ive got to ask you for your womenly advice on something
October 25, 200322 yr Ive wonder does coldplay have any religious background? i mean God put a smile... and Moses are kidna reason enough to wonder even thought theyre not to the religious things' date=' so anyways just wondering...[/quote'] You know I also wonder about that... but I don't know what they are... :/
October 25, 200322 yr yeah Ive always felt they have a spiritual focus in some of their songs in a sort of universal way - a bit like U2 - which is less about religion per say and more about searching and finding. I sorta hear it in songs like Politik, Daylight Amsterdam and some of their b-sides too. But that could just be me reading into their songs and hearing what I want to hear! :D :D
October 25, 200322 yr just because they talk about god and stuff doesnt really mean the are religious im sure they are but everyone knows about god/moses dont they?
October 26, 200322 yr yeah but not everyone sings about the subject. Im sure Chris follows christianity or any other theistic religion, i dont know.
October 26, 200322 yr just because they talk about god and stuff doesnt really mean the are religious im sure they are but everyone knows about god/moses dont they? very true. pj harvey and brmc use a lot of religious metaphors in their songs and you wouldnt call them religious. With coldplay i dont think they are 'religious' in 'i go to church' kind of way, but more in that I think the reference points used in the songs show they are sort of interested in the idea of a spiritual world. ...if that makes any sense?? :D
October 28, 200322 yr Well, religion sucks anyway, in my opinion. Just look at the middle east, and the ongoing conflicts, and suffering. There's something completely wrong with the world today, and religion has to take some of the blame.
October 29, 200322 yr Religion must take no blame. People must take the blame. If you say "well, their government in to blame" then you are saying the pople are to blame because- as we all (i hope) know you (the people) ARE the government. In the middle east religion is more about government and power than anything else anyway. BLAH BLAH BLAH! Religion does suck, it's dead, not to say the faith is- just the works.
October 29, 200322 yr yeah i get u man. nothing wrong with faith its just institutions, they put things in a box, start playing power games, fuck everything up. You can have something which is beautiful and good which is turned into an ugly monster because of institutions. Its like democracy. Nice idea, but once you build institutions it turns into something quite different to the concept - to the point that it sure isnt democracy anymore. End of rant. :D :D
October 29, 200322 yr Well' date=' religion sucks anyway, in my opinion. Just look at the middle east, and the ongoing conflicts, and suffering. There's something completely wrong with the world today, and religion has to take some of the blame.[/quote'] I take offense to that "Religion sucks" statement. If you don't agree with it, probably would have been more respectful of you to say something like, "I don't agree with religious affliations" or something along those lines. Little note here too: People is what is wrong with the world today, not religion.
