Did Taylor Swift Ripoff Coldplay?

Featured Replies

I think the intros are a little similar. :dozey:

OH

MY

GOD

she totally did!!!

SUEEE

SUEEEEE!!!

I couldn't care less about her, but I have to say I found them similar, but i don't think it's the same.

meh! :P

I don't think they'd make a big deal of it, if they did. Maybe settle the issue privately? but this one isn't so notorious. "When love takes over" is for example. Even my sister (who can't stand coldplay music for too long) told me "hey, that's Coldplay's song". However, when asked, the oracle said they were not the same, therefore, there hadn't been a breach of copyright. I don't know

I think that the intro to Winter by U2 sounds like Viva La Vida. But I'm not sure.

Winter:

Viva La Vida:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5TNK-TvIcI&ob=av3e]YouTube - Coldplay - Viva La Vida[/ame]

i think that Coldplay arent dick enough to sue them

and whoa thos to ....

I could totally understand chris subliminally getting viva from there

especially if its U2 cuz you just KNOW theyve heard it.

:surprised:

but Winter was left out from No line on the Horizon (2009) that is after Viva La Vida.

edit: and I don't think they care.

No I'm saying that U2 might have copied VLV because Viva La Vida was 2008, Linear (the film with 'Winter' in it was 2009)

Seriously. I think the strings are really similar and the chords are the same. Let me go research the chords! :escaping:

The strings sound similar. The two songs were produced by Brian Eno, right? maybe that's why? Anyways, I don't think they care so much cuz it's U2.

Yeah there was an interview with Eno that talked about how he had No Line On The Horizon and Viva La Vida on the same computer and was worried that he might make them sound the same on accident.

LOL ^^

then there's no way the bands don't know if their songs sound similar, considering they have/had the same producer.

It's funny, because really we're no better then the people who think Satriani or Cat Stevens stole Viva La Vida.

Yeah we are 'cause none of us really care.

I think everyone is joking about the suing them! :P
