To your knowledge, did one/both of your parent(s) want you aborted?

I don't know what the fuck I'm going to do. Just slog through the next 2 years I guess.

It's weird, we'd had a fine relationship for the past couple months at least, but then I just told him I'd never sent an email he'd asked me to send a week ago and I had just told him I did to get him off my back and he was like "you liar bitch, you turned out so selfish" and I was like "wtf??" and then we started arguing with each other and then he said that... ladsjf urghhh

I'd like to get a job but I can't cuz he won't let me drive... I dunno... >.< augh..

That's what he was talking about, maybe I could live with my grandparents on my mothers' side, but I really don't want to leave my friends/my school right now, I love them all to death...

you can take the bus or get a job nearby there are many options out there, and if your grandparents are nice, than it's better you live with them for your state of mind.

My grandparents are in a different state :P

And they haven't even seen me since I was like 4, so none of them know who the hell I am and it would just be so weird to ask them to take care of me for 2 years anyway..

Yes.

My mother used to tell me all the time how she wishes she had.

Whatever.

I really couldnt give a crap either way.

oh, well I guess the best thing to do is to stay away from your dad as much as you can, hang out with friends a lot, sit in the library, stuff like that, and get a job.

I don't see how parents could tell their children that. It's very damaging to a person to be constantly told that over and over.

What I don't get is say if you parents feel that way or have felt that way, then why not just give up the child to adoption to a set of parents that would probably give the child a better life?

This thread makes me wonder how can someone think that way. I mean, yeah, ok, you wanted your kid aborted and didn't do it, why mention it everytime you can?

I totally agree alexa!

to mention it to the child is a really shitty thing to do, that probably really hurts the person psychologically and also in terms of confidence within themselves.

I don't see how someone can be that selfish to make such a hurtful remark to their own blood.

To try and emotionally hurt the child

to keep them because of pressuring from strict catholic grandparents

...thats all i can think of.

I KNOW. I asked him why and he said cuz he had obligations, I was like what the fuck dad, just give me up to the state

It sucked at first, when i was little and I believed everything word for word.

once the stolckhom syndrome war off when i got older .. I just became as numb as i could to everything she said and did, and saying she wished shed aborted me wasnt the worst

I just learned that it was coming from her so it didnt really.... stick

although im not going to say i dont remember

because i can pretty much remember everything important anyone has ever said to me.

that's unacceptable. You're supposed to be there for your child to support them an love them unconditionally.

And to have pressure from the grandparents? I think that the parents should have enough courage to be able to make their own decisions.

Not to get onto the subject of abortion vs. non-abortion, but I think that if people don't want to have a child they should use protection. If not then do one of two things... have and raise the child and love them as much as you can, or... give the child up for adoption to a family that will love them uncontitionally.

I KNOW. I asked him why and he said cuz he had obligations, I was like what the fuck dad, just give me up to the state

that's fucked up.

Honestly this thread really pisses me off and makes me angry in terms that parents can do this to their children. They seriously should be kicked in the ass and wake up already! To put down your own child is unacceptable.

I feel bad that both of you (as well as probably many others) have had to go through this. There's no need for them to treat you like that.

Thanks, Mike. I'm basically over it, I'm just so tired of him I don't care that much anymore. Luckily he wasn't like this when I was little or I'd probably be really fucked up haha.

that's fucked up.

.

Believe me....

it can be much

...much

worse :blank:

My older brother once mentioned that when our parents announced to him and my two sisters that they were having another child, the mutual reaction was "This had to be a mistake". Mainly because of the math, with 2-3 years between each of them, and myself being born five years apart from my nearest sister.

He even once jokingly mentioned their theory over dinner once, causing my mom is insist that they always intended to have four children. My mom isn't religious, but is mostly opposed to abortion, while I have absolutely no guess how my dad might've reacted.

So...the short answer is no, but if you twist the subject to mean '...wish you hadn't been born' then it's very plausible.

I think overall no matter what your parents say about you not being born... pay no attention to it. Clearly they are trying to bully you for personal satisfaction to feel better about themselves, when essentially they're just being terrible people.

Sorry for so many posts in this thread... but I have always had a big issue with people not treating others with respect and or love... especially on the opposite side of the spectrum of this topic where the kids treat their parents like shit and put them nursing homes without visiting or whatever.

i will never do that to my grandfather

i can tell hes worried about getting his license revoked next august. He likes to be independent.

I keep telling him Ill drive him wherever he needs to go but hes still.... mmm

hes 90.

Still driving.

I know this sounds horrible but I used to wish I was aborted, at least I wouldn't have to live with them anymore and listen to anymore of their shit.

yeah. I mean they've lived their lives, raising children and they should have the independence to do what they want.

It's like you see this children (who are of course grown up), that put their parents into these nursing homes stating that it's better for them. Really all this means is that they don't want to take the responsibility to take care of their parents in my eyes. Even if say their parents are unable to take care of themselves, then at least hire someone to come in to take care of them. I feel that if I was their age I'd hate to be taken away from my house and be put into some lifeless home/hospital.

I know, but why? Why do that? Why hurt the kid? The kid did nothing wrong.

Id hate to see it too

coarse I live with my grandfather so that is a uh... extra incentive.

But even so

I mean....

Ive know this house since i was an infant.

I cant imagine tearing down everything, shipping my grandfather off to a nursing home (too me their like... senior citizen orphanages) and not being able to come in this house again

I mean... hes getting old

I know someday that that WILL be the case but i want to prolong it as much as possible.

Part of me wants him to get his license taken away so I dont have to worry about whether my 90 year old gramps will come back from the grocery store or not.

And it also would balance things out a bit

He needs me to drive him around

I need him for a place to live.

Hes been the one whos taken care of me my whole life, put up with my mom, pay for all my school expenses giving me lunch money, etc.

I feel in debt to him. So now I feel like... Im old enough that I should be giving back.

I dont see how anyone could not see it that way but... oh well.

Id hate to see it too

That is a good point... I mean you don't want to worry if he'll return from a regular trip. At the same time you want to give him his freedom.

I feel the same way in that now that I'm older I feel so grateful for what others have done for me that I want to give back and help them.

this thread makes me quite angry.

I was planned and they were excited to have a baby girl, etc, etc.

but apparently now I'm a huge disappointment.

 what a heartbreaking thread !

Hotendsestate- i assume you live in the US ?

If so, look up your state's laws on emancipation-

most states i think you can get emancipated at age 16.

This makes you a legal adult, so with a job/income, you could rent your own place ? but yeah/ you need out of there- you are being abused.
