To your knowledge, did one/both of your parent(s) want you aborted?

Featured Replies

Serious question, this.

My dad wanted me aborted, and btw I knowww this sounds really emo but in a way it's a shame he didn't, because raising me alone is taking up like the last 20 years of his life (he's really old and never planned to have children) and he really hates kids, so... yeah...

But yeah I'm a little curious.

Erm.. no, my parents weren't really thinking about having a second child, but then my mom was pregnant and they say they we're happy and it was a cool surprise

Nope.

your dad sounds like a party pooper. But glad you're here.

I don't feel sorry for you, but that's shit tbh.

oh ok good :nice:

:uhoh:

Yeah, totally agreeing on the whole Glad you weren't aborted,

seriously!

To my knowledge no, going by what my mother has told me.

And even if they had wanted to, they couldn't cause it's illegal here. Haha!

It's incredibly unlikely as they are religious and don't believe in abortion.

That's terrible that you think your father thinks that way of you. Did he actually tell you that himself? If that's the case, I think it's really fucked up.

When I think about it now I feel that abortion in some sense shouldn't be done because if they had agreed to doing it then we wouldn't have had you here Sara! So I don't think you should feel shame because, even if he does feel that way, there are probably so many more people that are glad that you are around!

My parents sort of planned me for being born, so neither wanted me aborted.

I'm glad you are here :)

I don't want to get to political, but what are your thoughts on abortion, It would be interesting to hear from someone who has had such a personal experiance with the issue.

I don't want to get to political

Then do everyone a favour and don't.

yeah... he let it slip when he was pissed off a few months ago and mentioned it again today... right now I'm actually seriously fucked up cuz he just asked me if there are any friends I have I can live with because he doesn't like me and doesn't want me around his house.. what the fuck???? :bigcry:

my parents have said many times that they wished I wasn't born and stuff like that, I feel your pain :(

do you think he honestly wants you to get out?

I think it's the woman's right to choose, and the dude shouldn't get involved, which is basically what happened with me ironically enough :P

that is my belief as well

I was just wondering how old you are, if you are an adult than I think it's best you get out of there, it's a very unhealthy environment to live in.

wow... what a douche!

seriously he's an asshole to even say that to him. I really have no respect for people that can't treat their children with respect or have the audacity to say something like that to you.

I'm sorry that you have to deal w/ someone like that that clearly doesn't like you. I mean even if say he didn't like the idea of having a child, that after time he would get used to it and love you regardless.

Regardless of what he says don't let it get to your or make you think that it's true. Like I said I'm sure there are a bunch of people that would think the opposite.

I hope things work themselves out :)

16. I'm getting the fuck out as soon as I can go to college. I don't know if he'll pay for it but whatever.

Thanks. Like I said, I hope I don't have to hang around too much longer. :nice:

so you have 2 more years till you go to college, I suggest you get a part time job, start saving some money, and hang in there till you are free to go.

that sounds like a good idea.

Is there any other family that you could possibly stay with temporarily, at least until you graduate?

I'd like to get a job but I can't cuz he won't let me drive... I dunno... >.< augh..

That's what he was talking about, maybe I could live with my grandparents on my mothers' side, but I really don't want to leave my friends/my school right now, I love them all to death...

hmm... so then there's no family that lives close enough that you'd be able to stay at the same school?

I sort of had a similar situation w/ one of my friends in high school in the sense that neither his parents really cared for him and he was constantly tossed from one house to another. Eventually he began to live at friends houses. I don't know what his current situation is because we drifted apart. But I do know that him living at other peoples houses did cause problems (especially since he graduated HS, was lazy, and didn't have a job).
