Coldplay Rip off U2

Featured Replies

It's amazing that the biggest band in the world has so much integrity and passion in their music. Our society is thoroughly screwed, fame is a ridiculous waste of time, and celebrity culture is disgusting. There are only a few people around brave enough to talk out against it, who use their fame in a good way.

That's what we've learned from U2: You have to be brave enough to be yourself.

I know this topic is celebrity culture not real bands too after zootv :dozey:

PERSONALY is the band U2 & the band Coldplay.

Coldplay is the generation after A-ha.

Chris influence of childhood by U2 and A-ha and others

and even as family :

example Magne and Guy (the daughter of Guy godfather is Magne A-ha)

but in U2 any family .

My I am only fan of A-ha always in my life .

but for me U2 can dream in a history tale of ado identity lost sadness (periode marriage real by A-ha Morten married ) and have first time listen Achtung Baby . listen to something other than A-ha as dream consolation substitutes .

for me only the real band U2 and not know is the song not commercial electrical storm

I remember not more of this story and dream of U2 in 2002 . I saw for the first time the clip

said : the pretty mermaid of Copenhague there is even reindeer. I wonder if it will find its way is as me who is still lost in her life too.

I dreamed always awake

I love the way that they're not interchangeable — if Larry Mullen Jr. wants to go scuba diving for a week, the rest of the band can't do a thing. U2 — like Coldplay — maintain that all songs that appear on their albums are credited to the band. And they are the only band that's been around for twenty years with no member changes and no big splits.

exactly as surfing

Now I do not know have fans like business commercial famous celeb any heart in music U2 and it is better to be a fan of bands disco no identity just fun ?

but you can go here discotheque. but it's not the band. hate dance music in the past become commercial U2 must sell because the invasion dance music .

is the Rolling Stone article true by Bono himself:

Bono Storms Back

I don't buy weekend tickets to Ireland and hang out in front of their gates, but U2 are the only band whose entire catalog I know by heart. The first song on The Unforgettable Fire, "A Sort of Homecoming,

yes the Unforgettable Five A Sort of Homecoming is as Viva la Vida album

The first U2 album I ever heard was Achtung Baby. It was 1991

LOL

That means they are influenced by them , it dosnt mean that they ripped of U2.

Towards not puting some of the "best songs" on the viva album : Maybe they didnt feel like it , maybe it didn't go with what the album was , and LOTS LOTS of times does not depend on the band itself it depends more on what the executive producers or record label says about the track list . Believe it or not , behind coldplay there is a big corporation waiting to cash in on their success and sometimes its not up to Coldplay on really decide what song goes on the album (though i dont think this is the reason) . Also it can happen that bands have DEADLINES and they have to finish all and maybe glass of water or LIT II werent ;)

Regardings the live show you are delusional :laugh3:

You are delusional at thinking that because of having ramps they copied U2

You are delusional at thinking that because of using a B-stage they copied U2

You are delusional at thinking that because of having tv's on stage they copied U2

I mean , like SERIOUSLY ? :stunned:

The B-Staged was first used finishing the 80's by Bryan Adams , we can say he "created" it . So if they were going to rip off , they would do it to Bryan ..

Countless of other artsits have used the Bstage even before U2 used it (and im not referring to small artists , im talking about mainstream artists with shows of over 60k people) , and at the same time too .

The Tv's on stage one was HILARIOUS like REALLY ?

Artists during the 80's and 90's have used it COUNTLESS Times even before U2 got to use it on the zoo tour ..

Artists such as Mariah Carey , Madonna , Whitney houston , Michael Jackson , they ALL used TV from 90 and on , before U2 started to use it :)

Then the setlist , okey  are you kidding me ? so now 100% of artists copy u2 just because they use new songs . So now Bruce sprignsteen , Paul McCartney , Madonna , and almost every artist copy U2 :o

so basically every show on earth was a rip off of zoo Tv tour :P i see

stay mad u delusional fan

:vuvuzela:

Plus they are not that big anymore ;) her leatest album kinda flopped , the singles were a complete mess and a complete fail. Get on your boots and the other ones fall of the charts even faster than the world trade center

well also U2 inspired Mew

Get on your boots :

tell me when U2 was inspired by Prince of the Pop funk and not Rock & Roll ?

they can play together at football because it's so similar that its articles are in orders.

Opening Night

In Turin, I noticed an interesting restraint, a poise, in your stage movements. There was a natural element to the way you stalked the stage and punched the air. You weren't trying to prove you were in shape. It was confidence, without overzealousness.

I woke up on the morning of the show with a certain anxiety: "Can I hit those notes? Have I got it inside of me? Have we got what it takes to make this experience one that people will remember for the rest of their lives? Or is it going to be four overrewarded musicians playing in a football stadium?" It's an unusual place to make magic. And that's our choice. We're alchemists. We turn shit into gold. We turn it into a communion.

In fact, one of the best bits the other night was "Get On Your Boots." The song has finally connected. It took awhile. I always knew there was a great song in there. It's punk rock now, where before it was Prince. There was a moment when Prince did rock & roll with a sponge-y seductive sound. I think that's what was in our head for "Get On Your Boots." But actually the song is much more punk rock.
