I agree. I hate when that happens in spanish, some people don't know the difference between Ay, Ahí y hay (and it's basic spanish but lots of people can't tell the difference).

I do know the difference, but I still make that mistake when I type in a hurry or something ... I also tend to switch they're and their from time to time ... although I know the difference ... but hey, I'm not a native speaker after all.

No ay ningún diferencia entre ahí y hay. :botoxlips:

It's ok in your case because spanish is like your 3rd language :P (and your spanish is great anyway!)

That bothers me so much. :bomb:

I have the utmost respect for anyone who's native tongue is not English, as they're doing a great job and little grammatical errors really aren't that important, but for English/American people it's so obnoxious;

It's actually my fourth and my Spanish is horrible, but I'll change that next year. :awesome:

I'm not a native speaker after all[/color].

And this is my point. I can certainly understand if it is someone's second language, in that case it doesn't bother me. But when I see fellow U.S.-ers on here, who are supposedly in school, constantly use it incorrectly... I just find it irritating. Basically it makes me question our education system. :|

I want some english lessons, I wonder how they teach the language here. I always feel very insecure when I want to write long ideas here :shame:

Imkella your spanish will be perfect and you'll even learn how to swear in chilean spanish :P

Fourth? :o

I want to hit people when they get that wrong. :|

I even bother my teacher about it and other things so now when she makes a mistake she apologizes to me. xD

I would have never guessed that you're insecure about that. Your english seems perfect to me!

My Physics teacher used to pronounce rollercoaster as "rolleycoaster". And nuclear as "nucular".
I would have never guessed that you're insecure about that. Your english seems perfect to me!

aww thanks, well I never write long ideas because of that, I want to learn how to write papers and school stuff but they only make us read in english so I've never had the opportunity to practice my writing skills. I'm always using google translator when I find new words anyway :P

Hahahaha, if I come to Chile. :awesome:

Yeah ... German, English, French and then Spanish. :uhoh2:

It annoys me when people use an apostrophe for the possessive word "its."

You must come, at least for a few days! :whip:

French is so hard :bomb: I just know a few words

That too. And vice versa.

And the whole there/they're/their thing.

THERE is a place.

If you want to say THEY ARE, use THEY'RE.

Everything else is THEIR.

Again I want to reiterate, I know it can be confusing for people who learn english as a second language; but for those who have it as a first language, there is no excuse.

I'll try my best.

Yeah, I know. :disappointed: I wish I was fluent.

I can still understand a bit, but that's it. :disappointed:

Yes. :bomb:

Seriously. :|

Its- possessive form (Its wing was blue.)

It's- contraction form of "it is" (It's a great day, isn't it?)

Oh yeah, lose and loose is one that people mess up a lot :bomb:

And it bugs me so much when people think "a lot" is one word :blank:
