You'll just know because it sounds incorrect.

This.

Just read your sentences! If it doesn't sound right, there must be something wrong in it.

Yes, I've made those mistakes too, but you will never learn if you don't pay attention to what you are doing.

I don't know if it has been posted, but if so, then it isn't so bad to post it again:

"U" is not the same as "you"

And seriously, this thread needed to be bumped again.

:awesome: Aww, thanks for the bump!

Actually I've been thinking about / noticing another one too. Although I only see one person (with English as first language) doing it on a regular basis.

Correct: of course

Incorrect: of coarse

And I really dislike when people can't do the whole "me and you" or "you and I" thing correctly. The rule for it is really simple, and if you TRY to be correct it doesn't take long before it becomes so familiar that you don't even really need to think of the rule. You'll just know because it sounds incorrect.

Wanna explain that to me? :D Sometimes I wonder about that when I type.

Another one is your and you're its and it's people use them incorrectly a lot. I think though that internet chatting and using a lot of abbreviations can cause people to adopt a lot of bad habbits

when typing fast and not thinking very much about it, I sometimes find myself typing "your" when I mean "you're" or "their" when I mean "they're". I generally notice it right away and change it. I know the difference and when to use one or the other, but it sometimes happens. :blank:
