November 15, 201015 yr So this is more of a rant than a disscusion but please feel free to express your thoughts on this. I been on Coldplays Facebook and seen the comments from people about how Coldplay shouldnt agree with auctioning, why not, they are doing it for a very good cause which till now i knew nothing about, the fact that tickets are highly priced in the auction is not down to the band but the people that are bidding and also i dont think they actually have control over seetickets starting the sales slightly early, think some people are a bit bitter they didn't get tickets and no i didn't get tickets either but i aint gonna blame the band cos i do remember them doing a free gig, getting a full listen to viva before it was realesed thru there myspace. And also free Ep Left Right Left Right. Anyways cant wait for the new album:)
November 16, 201015 yr Typical butthurt replies for the bids going way higher than they can afford. Let me guess most of these complaints are 'IT'S NOT FAIR ONLY THE RICH CAN GO NOW RAH'-esque ones?
November 16, 201015 yr The auction itself isn't a problem, as it's fair and for a good cause. If anyone's complaining about this, then they're "out of order". The issue is with the way the "standard" tickets were allocated.

November 16, 201015 yr agreed :D As I said, offering them in the form of a "draw" or ballot would have been much fairer.
November 16, 201015 yr As I said, offering them in the form of a "draw" or ballot would have been much fairer.Possibly yes, but at the same time there are people who want to go with a guest. So therein lies the problem of one person getting a ticket in a "lottery", and the other person not. Some people are comfortable traveling to a foreign country that they have never visited by themselves, but other people are not. No matter what the process is for distributing tickets, people will think it's "unfair" in some way. But the important thing here is... it's for CHARITY. The more money to the charity, the better. Sure, the 50 quid allocation will invariably be abused by money-grubbers, but I don't think people can really complain about the price of the auction tickets. EDIT: Although I will say there is one legitimate complaint about the auction, and it's in regard to the seeticket site. I have NEVER seen an auction where the HIGHEST MAXIMUM bids are listed. It's always the LOWEST winning bid. I admit that's rather lame.

November 16, 201015 yr And it should be made a criminal offence to offer such tickets on auction sites. Any tickets found to be offered on such sites should be immediately cancelled, and then new ones offered to the next names drawn out in the ballot. It wouldn't stop all the touting, but it would definitely make it much more difficult.
November 16, 201015 yr The Only thing that annoys me that there wasn't very many general sale tickets and those people who go and sell them on ebay to make a profit off a charity event.
November 16, 201015 yr The Only thing that annoys me that there wasn't very many general sale tickets and those people who go and sell them on ebay to make a profit off a charity event. Exactly, the people concerned should be ashamed of themselves, and something should be done about it.
November 16, 201015 yr Author not sure if any one has seen the guy from the usa trying to sell tickets for around £1900, not only that if you get 24hrs notice to produce id to get the tickets, how the hell is he gonna get the tickets from America to give em to the winning bidder! trying to make money from a charity gig!

Assuming we are referring to the same person, I actually already sent him some questions on eBay and received his responses, just so I can understand his "plan". I still don't see how it would work. Incidentally he became a member here the other day. Something tells me he won't actually post in any of these threads, because people would rip him into shreds. The nerve of some people and there are so m any deserving fans who should have gotten those tickets instead
November 16, 201015 yr The Only thing that annoys me that there wasn't very many general sale tickets and those people who go and sell them on ebay to make a profit off a charity event. Wouaah, it's disgusting, i've just had a look at it.:veryangry2:
November 16, 201015 yr To be fair these people are better going and paying like £800 it is or whatever on the Actual charity auction instead of on ebay
November 16, 201015 yr everyone here should just log onto eBay and offer a him bid of 50 quid apiece to be irritating; there has already been 3 (denied) offers
November 16, 201015 yr To be fair these people are better going and paying like £800 it is or whatever on the Actual charity auction instead of on ebay I agree. As I said elsewhere, if I had that sort of money to burn, that's where it would go.;)

November 16, 201015 yr Exactly, the people concerned should be ashamed of themselves, and something should be done about it. i think you will always get some greedy flippers who wil try to make a quick buck-as for the general sales I personally think for once its great to see any band giving a chance to local community to see them & for once not playing in manchester, birmingham or london-ie they would never play liverpool except under such circumstances
