I think its so ironic that the USA has thanksgiving as a big holiday and then the next day go insane to consume consume consume.

I'M SO THANKFUL I LIVE IN A PLACE WEHRE I AM RICHER THAN MOST OF THE WORLD AND FEEL ENTITLED TO RICHES

Haha I thought about when I saw Sara's thread and mentioned consumerism, it's almost like Thanksgiving is a day for staying in with their families and enjoying their time and company, but the next day it's like they fall off the wagon and buy 10 times more shit.

I saw on the news that two people got seriously injured trying to get into a Target when it first opened this morning. People are like screaming and shoving each other with umbrellas in the video. :uhoh:

I actually don't know anyone who goes out on Black Friday. :blank:

I don't because I don't want to die young.

I think Black Friday is the most retarded day of the year. . . why exactly is it necessary to line up at midnight, wait 3+ hours on line, and then get trampled to death just to save some money?

I'd rather be alive and spend a bit more money.

i'm too poor to go shopping on any day of the week.

Black Friday shopping is scary. I've never gone but I hear people trample each other and such to buy random shit. It's scary and messed up really.

Briggins is right.

Black Friday wasn't nearly as bad a few years ago, before everyone knew about it. It's been around for many years, it's only gotten that bad in the past few (not to mention only in higher populated states/towns, etc.,)

The trampling people is extremely exaggerated too. I've gone for a few years and I've never seen it happen...

I can imagine it being really exaggerated, I very much doubt many people trample over other people intentionally to get cheaper crap. I mean I can imagine possibly some people would, but I don't think a large amount of people would do it on purpose. If you've ever been in a large crowd of congested people, it can get very hectic, people will panic, there can be a rush from some to move forward and for them to move forward they need everyone infront of them to do the same (Not even particularly at a pace) but if someone wants to slow down then it can lead to them, and the person behind them, and the person behind them, to rush forward because of the people behind them. Then, rows and rows back, it appears that there's room to move so you move forward, and so do the people behind you, and when someone infront slows down, the problem repeats itself.

There may be crazyness to build big crowds for it, but I'm getting the impression we're thinking that it's not uncommon for Americans to stamp over some defenceless person to get 20% off a TV. Well, from looking at the news about it anyway.
